International Toy Fair to Begin on July 6 with Over 100 Foreign Buyers

  • More than 300 domestic companies and over 100 foreign buyers from the US, Germany and other countries are expected to participate in the four-day international toy fair beginning on July 6 in the national capital. More than 250 Indian brands will display their products during the fair, which is being organised at Pragati Maidan Delhi.
  • The 15th Toy Biz International B2B Expo 2024 is the largest fair in South Asia. It is a big platform for Indian toy makers to showcase their products and capabilities to the global audience. Tata Sons to Build Rs. 650 Crore 'Museum of Temples' in Ayodhya

  • The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved Tata Sons' proposal to build a 'museum of temples' in Ayodhya, a project worth Rs. 650 crore to be funded through Tata's corporate social responsibility fund. Additionally, the state cabinet also sanctioned Rs. 100 crore for further development works in Ayodhya and endorsed the initiation of helicopter services in Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Kapilvastu.

Srinagar Gets Tag of 'World Craft City'

  • Srinagar became the fourth Indian city to be recognised as a 'World Craft City' by the World Craft Council (WCC), three years after it was designated as part of the UNESCO Creative City Network (UCCN) for crafts and folk arts.
  • This prestigious honour celebrates the rich heritage, craftsmanship and vibrant culture of Srinagar.
  • Jaipur, Malappuram and Mysore are the other Indian cities that have previously been recognised as World Craft Cities.
  • In April this year (2024), a three-member independent panel of craft specialists of the World Craft Council visited Srinagar.
  • The J&K administration had applied for the recognition of Srinagar as World Craft City in 2021 together with recognition as UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
