Union Minister Virendra Kumar Inaugurates the 21st Divya Kala Mela at Jabalpur

Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Virendra Kumar inaugurated the 21st Divya Kala Mela at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The event organised by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, through the National Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC), will concluded on October 27, 2024.
The mela features dedicated stalls and exhibitions for Divyang artists to showcase their creative prowess and offer a glimpse into the incredible artistic expressions of this community.

'Mera Hou Chongba' A Celebration of Unity in Manipur

The 'Mera Hou Chongba' festival was celebrated in Manipur amidst ongoing ethnic tensions between the Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities. This annual festival serves as a significant cultural event aimed at reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood and harmony among the indigenous communities of the state, highlighting the rich cultural tapestry of Manipur.
The main purpose of 'Mera Hou Chongba' is to promote unity and solidarity among various ethnic groups in Manipur, particularly between the communities in the hills and valleys.
The event saw participation from village chiefs, cultural troupes, and invitees from various villages, showcasing a diverse representation of the state's indigenous cultures.

India, Colombia Sign Audio-Visual Co-Production Agreement

India and Colombia signed the Audio-Visual Co-Production Agreement, enabling filmmakers from both countries to collaborate on various aspects of film production.
The agreement is expected to deepen the engagement between the critical sectors of the film industries in both nations, ushering in a new chapter of collaboration.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, L. Murugan, and His Excellency Jorge Enrique Rojas Rodriguez, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia to India.
Previously, India had signed similar agreements with several other countries. These include Italy and the UK in 2005, Germany and Brazil in 2007, France in 2010, New Zealand in 2011, Poland and Spain in 2012, Canada and China in 2014, South Korea in 2015, Bangladesh in 2016, Portugal in 2017, Israel in 2018, Russia in 2019, and Australia in 2023.

Ustad Allauddin Khan Festival in Maihar, Madhya Pradesh

The Ustad Allauddin Khan Festival was held in Maihar Madhya Pradesh. This was the golden jubilee year of this music festival. During the three-day event, many well-known personalities of the country performed at the festival.
The three-day Ustad Allauddin Khan festival was organised jointly by the Madhya Pradesh Culture Department, Ustad Allauddin Khan Music and Art Academy and Maihar District Administration.
Ustad Allauddin Khan was famous in the music world not only in the country but also around the world. He made tireless efforts to promote the music tradition in Madhya Pradesh and connect the new generation with music.

A National Maritime Heritage Complex in Lothal

The Union Cabinet approved the development of the National Maritime Heritage Complex in Gujarat's Lothal.
Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the project aims to showcase India's 4,500-year-old diverse maritime heritage. He said that once fully developed, it will be the world's greatest maritime complex, adding that the project is being developed by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
The proposed complex will have several components including a Lighthouse Museum and a five-dimensional theatre offering interactive experiences. It will be completed in two phases.
While the project's Phase 1A is already under implementation with more than 60 per cent physical progress and is planned to be completed by 2025, the Cabinet accorded in-principle approval for Phase 1B and Phase 2, as per the master plan, by raising funds through voluntary resources/ contributions and their execution (will be carried out) after raising of the funds.
