World Brain Tumour Day

World Brain Tumour Day is observed every year on June 8 to raise awareness about brain tumours, one of the most serious and complex medical conditions.
World Brain Tumour Day was started in the year 2000 by the German Brain Tumour Association (Deutsche Hirntumorhilfe e.V.) This non-profit organization created the day to support patients and spread public awareness. Since then, June 8 has been observed as World Brain Tumour Day in many countries through events, fundraisers and educational programs.

World Oceans Day

Every year, World Oceans Day is observed on June 8.
In 1992, World Oceans Day was proposed at the Earth Summit that took place in Rio De Janeiro. On December 5, 2008, The UN General Assembly designated June 8 to be observed as World Oceans Day every year. The day was established with the intention of creating awareness about the connection of human beings with the oceans. Every year, The UN Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea organises events to create public awareness.
The theme for World Oceans Day 2025 is 'Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us.'

World Food Safety Day

World Food Safety Day, observed annually on June 7, raises global awareness about the importance of safe and nutritious food in building healthier lives and stronger economies.
In December 2018, the United Nations General Assembly formally established World Food Safety Day. The first worldwide commemoration was held on June 7, 2019.
The theme for World Food Safety Day 2025 is 'Food Safety: Science in Action.'

World Environment Day

World Environment Day is celebrated annually on June 5 as a global reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the planet.
World Environment Day was first established in 1972 by the United Nations General Assembly during the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. The first official celebration took place in 1973, with the theme 'Only One Earth.'
World Environment Day 2025 was officially hosted by the Republic of Korea, also known as South Korea.
The theme for World Environment Day 2025 is 'Beat Plastic Pollution.'

International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression

Every year, International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression is observed on June 4.
On August 19, 1982, the UN General Assembly's special session focused on the plight that Palestinian and Lebanese children faced due to Israeli aggression during the Lebanon war. The assembly further pledged to protect the rights of the children in Lebanon. The UN General Assembly announced that every year, on June 4, International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression will be observed.

World Bicycle Day

World Bicycle Day is celebrated annually on June 3; this special day encourages people to use bicycles as a simple, affordable, reliable, and eco-friendly means of transportation.
World Bicycle Day was declared by the United Nations in April 2018, following a resolution adopted by 193 member countries. It recognises the uniqueness, longevity, and versatility of the bicycle — a sustainable, reliable mode of transport that has been in use for over two centuries.
The initiative was proposed by Professor Leszek Sibilski, a U.S.-based sociologist and cycling advocate, and quickly gained global momentum.
