Air Connectivity in North East Expands Further

To further expand air connectivity in the northeastern region under the Regional Connectivity Scheme-Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (RCS-UDAN) scheme of the central government, a new private airliner on Monday (May 24) started flight operations between Assam's Guwahati and Arunachal Pradesh's Pasighat.
As per Airport Authority of India (AAI), a flight of the private airliner Flybig started the direct flight services from Guwahati to Pasighat.

Guevara Joins Saudi Ministry of Tourism

The Saudi Arabia ministry of tourism appointed Gloria Guevara to the position of chief special advisor to Ahmed Al Khateeb, the Minister of Tourism.
Guevara was most recently chief executive of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).
As a special advisor to the minister, she will draw on more than 25 years of public and private tourism sector experience to help facilitate international collaborations, develop human capital and contribute to the delivery of the ambitious, large-scale tourism investments under Vision 2030.

Spain to Reopen to Holidaymakers from UK

Spanish tourism officials have confirmed visitors from the United Kingdom will be able to travel to the country for a holiday from Monday.
Travellers from the UK will not need to present a negative Covid-19 test, as long as they have remained in the country for the past 14 days.
Similar conditions apply to Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Israel, South Korea, Thailand, Rwanda, China and Japan, as the country seeks to restart its tourism sector.

London Launches New £7m Campaign to Revive Hospitality

Newly re-elected London mayor, Sadiq Khan, has announced plans for the biggest domestic tourism campaign the capital has ever seen.
The plans are designed to help the economy get back on its feet as Covid-19 restrictions are eased.
Khan confirmed an immediate priority will be the new 'Let's Do London' campaign, which is being created in partnership with the city's hospitality, culture and retail industries.
The flagship campaign to encourage Londoners and visitors back into central London will include a programme of one-off special events created in partnership with London's best-known cultural institutions and tourism attractions.

Jammu and Kashmir L-G Manoj Sinha Approves Relief Package to Tourism Sector Stakeholders

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has approved a relief package amounting to two-crore ninety-four lac and twenty-two thousand rupees as part of the relief package to tourism sector stakeholders in wake of the COVD-19 pandemic.
The Tourism Department by virtue of the order has been advised to follow up the release of funds with the Lieutenant Governor's Secretariat.
The amount shall be transferred from the "J&K Relief Fund" to the official account of the Department for further transfer to the beneficiaries concerned.

Greece Ends Lockdown Measures and Opens to Tourists

Greece has launched its tourist season, lifting most remaining restrictions on movement and declaring "we are putting the lockdown behind us".
Although an average of 2,000 daily Covid cases are still being reported, vaccinations are being rolled out.
German tourists have begun flying in. From 17 May it will not be illegal for Britons to travel to "amber list" Greece, but they are advised not to.
Only for "green list" countries such as Portugal will rules ease significantly.
Although the UK has a relatively low infection rate, Germany has said it will be classed as a Covid risk area from Sunday because of cases of the Indian variant in some areas. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Friday the Indian variant could pose "significant disruption" to lockdown easing on 21 June.

Kashmir's pashmina and Sozni (needlework) are famous all over the world but with the changing market trends, this craft is gasping for survival. However, a specially-abled man is not only trying to save this art but has also brought together 40 more people like him and created a self-help group with a focus on the revival of this craft.
