Dalai Lama Gets 1959 Ramon Magsaysay Award In Person After 64 Years

  • The 1959 Ramon Magsaysay Award was presented to Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama at his residence here by members of the award foundation personally after 64 years. 
  • It was the first international award given to "His Holiness for Community Leadership in recognition of his leadership of the Tibetan community's gallant struggle in defense of the sacred religion that is the inspiration of their life and culture" by the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation in the Philippines in August 1959.
  • Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation president Susanna B Afan and Foundation Trustee Emily A Abrera met with the Dalai Lama, the Nobel Peace laureate, to personally present the 1959 Ramon Magsaysay Award after 64 years.

Another Feather In His Cap! Ratan Tata Receives Australia's Highest Civil Honour 'Order Of Austra...

  •  Tata group's former chairman Ratan Tata, who is already a recipient of the Padma Bhushan in the year 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008, which are the third and second highest civilian honours awarded by the Government of India, respectively, has added another feather to his cap.
  • Ratan Tata was recently awarded the Order of Australia, which is the highest civil honour in that country. He was honoured for his outstanding contribution towards boosting the ties between India and Australia, especially in areas such as trade, business, and philanthropy.
  • Barry 'O' Farrell, who is Australia's High Commissioner to India, shared some pictures from the ceremony and revealed that although Tata is a "titan" in the field of business, he had created a lasting impact in the business community and start-up ecosystem in Australia as well.

PM GatiShakti national master plan gets award for excellence in public administr.

  •  The prime minister's awards for excellence in public administration have been instituted to recognise the extraordinary and innovative work done by districts.PM Gati Shakti national master plan initiative, launched in October 2021 for integrated and planned development of critical infrastructure projects to reduce logistics costs, received an award for excellence in public administration-2022 from Prime Minister Narendra Modi . Secretary in the department for promotion of industry and internal trade (DPIIT) Anurag Jain received the award at the 16th Civil Services Day.Modi conferred these awards for excellence in public administration for effective implementation of identified priority programmes and innovation to implementing units, and central and state organisations.
  • The prime minister's awards for excellence in public administration have been instituted to recognise the extraordinary and innovative work done by districts, and organisations of the central and state governments for people's welfare.

Asha Bhosle Receives Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Puraskar

  • Legendary singer Asha Bhosle was felicitated with the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar award. The family and the trust instituted the award in the memory of Lata Mangeshkar, who died on February 6, 2022, following multiple organ failure.
  • Bhosle, the younger sister of Lata Mangeshkar, received the recognition, on the Memorial Day of their father and theatre-music veteran Deenanath Mangeshkar. This award, known as the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Puraskar, is given every year to an individual who has made a path-breaking contribution towards the nation, its people and society. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was its first recipient.

Sonam Wangchuk Conferred with Prestigious Santokbaa Humanitarian Award

  • Sonam Wangchuk, a distinguished engineer, innovator, educationist, and sustainable development reformist, was honoured with the prestigious Santokbaa Humanitarian Award. The award was initiated by Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK), a leading company in diamond crafting and exports, and its philanthropic arm Shree Ramkrishna Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF). Wangchuk is the Founder-Director of Students' Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL).
  • The Santokbaa Humanitarian Award, which includes a cash prize of Rs. 1 crore, has been created in honour of Late Santokbaa Dholakia, the mother of Govind Dholakia, the Founder Chairman of SRK and SRKKF.
  • The previous award recipients include Tata Sons' former chairman Ratan Tata, Nobel Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi, Space scientist and former ISRO chairman A. S. Kiran Kumar, philanthropist and Infosys Foundation Chairperson Sudha Murty.
