Book Titled "Gita Govinda: Jaydeva's Divine Odyssey" by Utpal K. Banerjee

  • Union Minister of Culture Kishan Reddy Gangapuram has launched a book titled "Gita Govinda: Jaydeva's Divine Odyssey" authored by Dr Utpal K. Banerjee. The book is the first-ever fully-rhymed translation of the book Geeta Govindam by great 12th-century poet Jayadeva.
  • Union Minister also launched a programme named 'BujurgonkiBaat–DeshKeSaath' that aims at enhancing the interaction between the youth and the elder persons who are 95 years and above and thus have spent around 18 years in India before independence.
  • Utpal K. Banerjee is an Indian writer, adviser on management and information technology and a former director of the New Delhi-based Forum for Information Technology for India.

  • Vir Sanghvi, one of India's most recognised journalists, has come out with a memoir titled 'A Rude Life: The Memoire'. 'A Rude Life: The Memoir' has been published by Penguin Random House. Through this book, the author has shared his views and experience of the most eventful careers in Indian journalism, including his personal life, stories of and about celebrities and politicians, middlemen and behind-the-scene actors.
  • Vir Sanghvi is an Indian print and television journalist, author, columnist and talk show host, who worked with Hindustan Times from 1999 to 2007, after which he continued at the paper as a columnist.

  • A new book titled 'Kick-Off' unearths a lot of interesting anecdotes on Indian football from the 1950's to the 80's.
  • The 28-chapter book has been written by veteran sports journalist Shyam Sundar Ghosh and he also extensively spoke to experts of bygone era trying to reason why India from being a continental powerhouse in the sport plummeted to abysmal depths in the later years.
  • The book also busts popular myths like India being invited to play the 1950 FIFA World Cup, which the author termed as "fake propaganda".

  • A book titled 'Address Book: A Publishing Memoir in the Time of COVID' by Ritu Menon was released in 2021. Menon, who co-founded Kali for Women, India's first feminist press in 1983, is founder-director of Women Unlimited, an associate of KfW. Weeks after the March 2020 lockdown began, Menon started to write a diary.
