Delhi Government Launches 'Healthy Body, Healthy Mind' Fitness Campaign for Students Confined in ...

  • Delhi Government launched the Fitness Campaign – "Healthy Body, Healthy Mind", for the students who are confined in their homes because of the lockdown imposed on schools and colleges due to COVID-19 pandemic.
  • As a part of the "Healthy Body, Healthy Mind" campaign, a YouTube channel has been started which uploads a video on every Wednesday, by which the students can practice for a week to maintain fitness and make up for the loss of physical activities amid pandemic.

Delhi Government Launches Niraman Mazdoor Registration Abhiyan

  • The Delhi government launched a 15-day campaign for registration of construction workers in all the 70 assembly constituencies in of Delhi.
  • Delhi's Labour and Employment Minister Gopal Rai said that in a bid to expand this whole registration procedure, the Delhi government is holding "Niraman Mazdoor Registration Abhiyan", from August 24 to September 11, a mega campaign for the registration of construction labourers.
  • The Delhi government has set up camps at 70 schools for registration of construction labourers - one each in every assembly constituency. For those construction workers who wish to get registered online, can submit the application on www.edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in.

Odisha Govt. Introduces Scheme to Promote Biofloc Fish Farming Technology

  • Fisheries and Animal Resources Department, Government of Odisha has brought out a new scheme for promoting Intensive Aquaculture through Bio-floc Technology in Fisheries. This is an advanced fish farming technology introduced in the State to provide livelihood support to entrepreneurs, unemployed youth and interested progressive fish farmers of the state, aimed atincreasingfish productivityand make the state self-sufficient in fish production.
  • Bio-floc based farming system is a new technology for promotion of intensive fish/ shrimp production in a limited area without significantly increasing the usage of the basic natural resources of water and land. A Person having small land holding (as small as 150-200 square meter of land) and having either municipal piped water supply or bore well water supply can establish this business with small investment. This programme aims to support fish farmers and young entrepreneurs for generation of income and livelihood support.

Chhattisgarh CM Announces Scheme for School Students

  • Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched the 'Padhai Tuhar Para' scheme to enable school students to learn from their respective localities as the classes are being suspended due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
  • He informed that a Bluetooth-based programme 'Bultu Ke Bol', 'Mukhyamantri Slum Swasthya Yojana', 'Radhabai Diagnostic Centre Scheme' will also be introduced and committees will be set up for new appointments and promotions in the state.
  • The state Govt. will create a dedicated fund for contributions from people towards the Ram Van Gaman project.
  • Padhai Tuhar Para scheme was launched to take the 'Padhai Tunhar Duar' scheme, an online education platform further.
  • It was launched by the state government earlier during the lockdown. It yielded better results and around 22 lakh children are getting its benefit.

Assam Government to Launch 'Orunodoi' Scheme to Provide Financial Assistance

  • Finance Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sharma announced that the Government of Assam will roll out the 'Orunodoi' Scheme, which will provide Financial Assistance of Rs. 830 per month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme to around 17 lakh families in the state. It is expected to be the largest direct benefit Transfer scheme in Assam.
  • The 'Orunodoi' scheme will be implemented from October 2, 2020 and will act as an umbrella scheme for all other government schemes for the next 5 years.
  • The amount provided under the 'Orunodoi' Scheme will help the impoverished families in the state to meet their nutritional and medical needs.
  • The scheme is applicable to eligible families to buy essential food items. Rs.400 has been allotted for the purchase of medicine, Rs.150 for vegetables, 50% off on 4 kg of ration and 4kgs of sugar.
  • Around 15 to 17 thousand families in each assembly constituency are expected to be benefited by this scheme.
  • The Assam government will bear 210 crore rupees per month for the 'Orunodoi' scheme.
  • The amount will be transferred to the bank account of the nominated women member of the family.

National Health Authority Approves to Integrate Health Schemes of Central Ministries with Ayushma...

  • The Governing board of National Health Authority (NHA) approved the proposal to integrate the existing health schemes of the central ministries with the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana for employees, during the governing board's review meeting on the implementation AB-PMJAY chaired by Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare.
  • The integration of the central ministry schemes and AB-PMJAY will promote the development in the supply side and enhance the demand creation of the services of the health care.
  • The Integration of the existing schemes with the ABPMJAY for employees will benefit the government and contractual employees, beneficiary groups like, building and construction workers, manual scavengers, road accident victims and Central Armed Police Force personnel.
  • This will increase the interoperability between the schemes and will benefit the victims in different geographical areas with limited health care amenities through the portability characteristic of PMJAY.

Haryana Govt. Launches Mahila Evam Kishori Samman Yojana & Mukhya Mantri Doodh Uphar Yojana

  • In order to give a major boost to the "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" campaign, the state government of Haryana launched two schemes, with a total outlay of Rs. 256 crore, viz. launched "Mahila Evam Kishori Samman Yojana" to provide free sanitary napkins to girls and women of below poverty line (BPL) families, and initiated "Mukhya Mantri Doodh Uphar Yojana" to provide fortified flavoured skimmed milk powder to women and children. These schemes were launched by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar through video conferencing.
  • "Mahila Evam Kishori Samman Yojana" focusing on adolescent girls and women between 10 to 45 years of age of about 11,24,871 BPL families will provide a 6 piece packet of free sanitary napkins every month for a year. This scheme will cover the state's 22.50 lakh women and girls.
  • "Mukhya Mantri Doodh Uphar Yojana" under the aegis of Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS), implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD), the state government has initiated this scheme in order to provide fortified flavoured skimmed milk powder to about 9.03 lakh children and 2.95 lakh pregnant and lactating mothers visiting 25,962 anganwadi centres in the state.
