National STEM Day

National STEM Day is celebrated every year on November 8 to recognise the importance of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. The purpose of the National STEM Day is to inspire students to pursue fields in STEM foster a passion for problem-solving, and highlight the role STEM in driving innovation and economic growth.

World Radiography Day

World Radiography Day is celebrated every year on November 8 to mark the discovery of X-rays. This important development in medicine has changed healthcare by making it possible to identify a wide range of health issues. The day also honours the hard work of radiographers and radiologists worldwide for their role in diagnosing and treating medical conditions.
World Radiography Day was first celebrated on November 8, 2007, by the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists which coincided with the anniversary of Roentgen's discovery of X-rays.
The theme for World Radiography Day 2024 is 'Radiographers: Seeing the Unseen.'

National Cancer Awareness Day 2024

National Cancer Awareness Day is observed by India on November 7 every year since 2014. This day is dedicated to increasing public awareness of cancer prevention, detection and treatment. It also marks the birth anniversary of Marie Curie, the renowned Polish-French physicist and chemist who was born in 1867 and received a Nobel Prize for her contributions to science.
In September 2014, India's Union Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, established National Cancer Awareness Day. A committee was formed, and November 7 was selected as the annual observance day to educate the public about cancer, its treatment, and the importance of early intervention in significantly increasing survival rates.

International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict

The International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict is a global day observed on November 6 every year. This day highlights the impact of armed conflicts on our environment. This day reminds us of the importance of protecting our environment from the damage caused by war and armed conflicts in different regions of the world.
On November 5, 2001, the UN General Assembly declared November 6 of each year as the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict.

Haryana Day

Haryana Day, an annual cultural festival observed on November 1, holds a special place in the festive calendar of the state of Haryana. It is one of several celebrations that keep the spirit of festivity alive in Haryana throughout the year. This festival commemorates the historic moment in 1966 when Haryana was officially separated from Punjab as an independent state. Haryana Day is marked by a series of vibrant events and activities that bring the entire state together in celebration.
In April 1966, the Indian government established the Shah Commission to review the status of Punjab and determine the boundaries for the new state of Haryana, taking into account the linguistic preferences of the local population. The commission unveiled its recommendations at the end of May 1966, leading to the formation of the state of Haryana on 1 November 1966.
