111-year-old Briton, World's New Oldest Man

The world's oldest living man, 111-year-old Briton John Tinniswood, said that his longevity was just luck and there was no special secret to his diet - although his favourite food was fish and chips every Friday.
Tinniswood, who has been retired for more than half a century, inherited the Guinness World Records title from Venezuelan Juan Vicente Perez Mora, 114, whose death was announced earlier in the first week of April.
Guinness World Records said in a statement that Tinniswood's claim to the record was assessed by its experts and by the Gerontology Research Group, which catalogues the world's confirmed "supercentenarians".

World's Oldest Man, Juan Vicente Pérez, Dies at 114

Venezuelan Juan Vicente Perez Mora, certified in 2022 by Guinness World Records as the oldest man in the world, died at the age of 114.
Perez was officially confirmed as the oldest man alive on February 4, 2022, when he was 112 years and 253 days old, according to Guinness.
Pérez had a huge family. He had 6 sons and 5 daughters. By 2022, he also had 41 grandchildren.

World War-II Veteran Subedar Thanseia Dies

One of the few surviving World War veterans in the country, Subedar Thanseia passed away. He was 102.
The distinguished veteran was from Mizoram and had been part of the Army's Assam Regiment.
He is well known for his valour at the Battle of Kohima during World War II and his role in establishing the legacy of the 1st Assam Regiment during their deployment at Jessami.

Veteran Actress Barbara Rush Passes Away

Veteran Hollywood actor Barbara Rush died in Los Angeles at the age of 97.
Rush was known for her roles in 'It Came from Outer Space' and 'Peyton Place'. The news of her death was shared by her daughter and Fox News Channel correspondent, Claudia Cowan. "My wonderful mother passed away peacefully. It's fitting she chose to leave on Easter as it was one of her favourite holidays and now, of course, Easter will have a deeper significance for me and my family", she told Fox News Digital.
Rush won a Golden Globe Award in 1954 for the most promising newcomer in 'It Came from Outer Space'. Her career spanned across seven decades and has appeared in numerous films and television shows. She featured alongside actors such as Paul Newman, Rock Hudson, Dean Martin, Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra and Richard Burton.
Barbara Rush garnered increased recognition following her role in the critically acclaimed 1956 drama 'Bigger Than Life', where she starred opposite James Mason.

Jailed Gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari Dies

Ansari was taken to the Rani Durgavati Medical College in Banda from the district jail after his health deteriorated.
Jailed gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari died of a cardiac arrest at a hospital in Banda in Uttar Pradesh.
Ansari was a five-time MLA from Mau Sadar seat and was behind bars in UP and Punjab since 2005. He had over 60 criminal cases pending against him. He was sentenced in eight cases since September 2022 by different courts of Uttar Pradesh and was lodged in the Banda jail.
His name was on the list of 66 gangsters issued by Uttar Pradesh Police in 2023.
