Arjun Munda Inaugurates National Tribal Festival in Ahmedabad

  • Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda and Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the Aadi Mahotsav at Ahmedabad and paid a reverent tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The 10-day mega event is being organized by the TRIFED (Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India, Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs), at the Ahmedabad Haat, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad. The theme of the festival is 'Celebration of Tribal Entrepreneurship, Crafts, Culture and Commerce'.
  • The Aadi Mahotsav features the exhibition-cum-sale of tribal handicrafts, art, paintings, fabric, jewellery, cuisine and much more through 100 stalls. More than 200 tribal artisans and artists from across the country are participating in the festival.
  • The Aadi Mahotsav will conclude on the 3rd of November.

The First-ever India Biennale to be Held at the British Era Barracks of Delhi's Red Fort

  • India's artistic and architectural past will be showcased in December at the Red Fort in Delhi. Everything from its intricate doors to historic beautiful temples and antique step wells or baoli to extravagant textile designs will be presented.
  • The inaugural India Art, Architecture & Design Biennale (IAADB), to be held from December 9-15, will feature seven 'especially-curated' thematic displays located in three British-era barracks on the grounds of the Mughal-era monument.
  • As per reports, the day-wise seven themes are listed in this sequence: 'Doors of India', 'Gardens of India', 'Baolis of India', 'Temples of India', 'Architectural Wonders of Independent India', 'Indigenous Design' and 'Women in Architecture and Design'.

Amit Shah Inaugurates Samau Shaheed Memorial and Library

  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated Samau Shaheed Memorial and Library in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
  • He said that 12 valiant heroes had sacrificed their lives during the freedom struggle in Samau in November, 1857, but there was no memorial for them till 2022-23. The memorial inaugurated will serve to immortalise their stories of bravery.

  • In Ladakh, the two-day Ladakh Zanskar Festival 2023 was held at Padum in Zanskar.
  • The 8th edition of Zanskar festival was held with participation of cultural troops from all over Ladakh. Exhibition stalls displayed traditional cuisine, attire, lifestyle, ethnicity and unique Zanskar culture. Major attractions of the festival were cultural presentations from famous cultural troops, folk songs and dance.

North America's first Gandhi Museum opens in Houston

  • The first free-standing Gandhi Museum in North America, dedicated to the life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi is open to the public in the US city of Houston ,Texas.
  • Museum in the United States, dedicated to Gandhi, to preserve and promote his ever-lasting legacy of nonviolent conflict resolution.
  • The outer walls of the semi-circle-shaped museum depict various peace activists including Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Betty Williams, and more.
