Tamil Nadu Government Launches Integrated Agri-development Scheme

Chief Minister MK Stalin launched the 'Kalaignarin All Villages Integrated Agricultural Development Programme' that proposes overall agriculture development in all the 15,525 village panchayats through a convergence of Union and State government schemes and externally-aided projects in five years.
In 2022, the programme will cover 1,997 village panchayats at a cost of Rs. 227.06 crore and benefit over nine lakh agricultural families.
The programme aims to bring 11.75 lakh hectares of land under net area cultivated in the next 10 years, increase the double-cropping area to 20 lakh hectares, and make Tamil Nadu among the top three States in production of foodgrains, coconut, cotton, sunflower, and groundnut.

Tripura Adopts EV Policy to Convert 10% of State's Vehicles to Electric

In an effort to cut down on environmental pollution and uphold Tripura as an eco-friendly tourist destination, the Tripura state government decided to adopt the Tripura Electric Vehicle Policy 2022, to promote electric vehicles. There are 60,000 vehicles in Tripura. Government has taken an in-principle decision to convert 10 per cent of these 60,000 vehicles in the next five years.
The electric vehicles policy is already existing in 14 states of the country. If implemented, Tripura would become the 15th state and third in the Northeast region after Assam and Meghalaya to adopt the electric vehicle policy.
The cabinet also decided to provide 2-3 Ganda free land to 7,230 tea garden workers in the state.

Centre Launches Swachh Survekshan 2023 under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0

Union Government launched the Eighth Edition of Swachh Survekshan – SS-2023 under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0. Designed with the theme of 'Waste to Wealth' as its driving philosophy, Swachh Survekshan- 2023 is curated towards achieving circularity in waste management. The survey would give priority to the principle of 3 Rs- Reduce, Recycle and Reuse.
Over the years, Swachh Survekshan emerged as the largest Urban sanitation survey in the world. It was observed that whenever the Swachh Survey starts, there is an enhanced level of activities undertaken by the cities and cities are visibly cleaner during the months the survey is conducted. Therefore, in SS-2023, the evaluation will be conducted in four phases, instead of three phases in earlier editions.

Uttarakhand Becomes the First Indian State to Roll Out Drone in Healthcare

Drones being used commercially to deliver great healthcare to Indians in the most rural locations appears to be a possibility now. In the United States' Redcliffe Labs, a division of Redcliffe Lifetech, has completed its first commercial drone flight in the healthcare sector. Between Uttarkashi and Dehradun, the business just launched a commercial drone corridor. Redcliffe Lab transported a payload of 5 kilograms in air temp boxes from Gyansu, Uttarkashi, to Vivek Vihar, Dehradun, a distance of 60 kilometres by air.
Though initially sceptical, India's commercial sectors have embraced drones to improve job efficiency and save operational costs. According to 6W research, the Indian UAV market is expected to develop at a CAGR of 18% in terms of revenue from 2017 to 23.

Chhattisgarh becomes first state to restore old pension scheme

Chhattisgarh became the first state in the country to restore the old pension scheme in order to provide assured income to retired employees. The state government sent a proposal to the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) for the withdrawal of Rs 17,000 crore accrued under the National Pension Scheme since November 2004.
- The government issued a notification saying that the old pension scheme will be effective from April 1, 2022. Also, the 10 per cent deduction for monthly contribution from the salary of government employees as a contribution to the new pension scheme will be abolished from April 1, 2022. However, a minimum of 12 per cent of basic salary will be deducted as per the General Provident Fund rule.
- The old pension scheme gives 50 per cent of the employee's salary as pension.

Madhya Pradesh Govt. Launches Second Phase of Ladli Laxmi Scheme to Make Girls Self-reliant

Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched Ladli Laxmi schme-2.0 during a state-level function at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal. More than seven thousand girls were present in the programme. Chief Minister also dedicated the Ladli e-Samvad app to establish a continuous dialogue with Ladlis.
Ladli Laxmi schme - 2.0 is an innovative initiative to encourage daughters to pursue higher education and make them self-dependent. Decision was also taken to honour gram panchayats as Ladli Friendly panchayat who have done remarkable work for the economic empowerment, skill enhancement and protection of rights along with nutrition, health and education of the daughters and to boost their self-confidence.

Subsidised Meals Scheme for Attendants of Patients in Government Hospitals in Telangana

The Telangana government launched the subsidised meal programme of 'Rs. 5 per meal' to attendants of patients at state-run hospitals. After launching the scheme at Osmania General Hospital, state Health Minister T. Harish Rao and Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali served the attendants. As part of the programme, three meals a day would be provided to attendants of patients in 18 major government hospitals at Rs. 5 per meal.
The Telangana State Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TSMSIDC) will act as the nodal department in implementing the scheme and will arrange for provision of three meals a day to attendants through the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation.
