Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2019, 2020 and 2021 Presented to 102 Artists
The Union Minister for Culture, Tourism and DoNER, G. Kishan Reddy presented the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar (UBKYP) 2019, 2020 and 2021, in New Delhi. Sangeet Natak Akademi, the national academy of Music, Dance and Drama, and the apex body of the performing arts in the country, in the meeting of its General Council held on November 8, 2022 in New Delhi had selected 102 artists (including three joint awards) of India who have made a mark as young talents in their respective fields of performing arts for the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2019, 2020 and 2021.
The Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, given to artists up to the age of 40 years, was introduced in the year 2006 with the objective of identifying and encouraging outstanding young talents in diverse fields of the performing arts and giving them national recognition early in their life, so that they may work with greater commitment and dedication in their chosen fields. The Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar carries a purse money of Rs. 25,000, an Angavastram and a plaque.
He was a famous Shehnai musician. He was one of the few musicians in the country to receive Bharat Ratna. Before him, musicians M. S. Subbalakshmi and Ravi Shankar were honoured with the award before him and he was the third to receive the honour.

Karnataka Bank Wins Prathista Puraskar under Digidhan Award 2021-22
Karnataka Bank was awarded with 'Prathista Puraskar' under 'Digidhan Awards 2021-22' by the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology for achieving target with highest percentage in BHIM-UPI transactions in private sector bank category.
Labelled as 'KBL-NxT', the bank is currently undertaking an accelerated digital drive under its transformation journey 'KBL VIKAAS 2.0'. This award is an ideal tribute to the founding fathers of this great institution as Karnataka Bank is stepping into its 100th year of its fruitful existence.

Kantara's Rishab Shetty Wins 'Most Promising Actor Award' at DPIFF 2023
Rishab Shetty rose to fame after the massive success of Kantara. The film went on to gross over Rs. 400 crore worldwide and won critical acclaim. The writer, director and actor of Kantara, Rishab Shetty, was honoured with Most Promising Actor at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF). Kantara is one of the successful films of 2022.

Dr. Mahendra Mishra to Receive International Mother Language Award 2023
Dr. Mahendra Kumar Mishra, an eminent linguist and a folklorist from Odisha, was nominated to receive the UNESCO's International Mother Language Award 2023 for his lifetime service for promotion of mother language in India.
He will be conferred this award by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the International Mother Language Institute (IMLI), Dhaka, on February 21.
Dr. Mishra is the first one in India to receive the UNESCO award for mother language promotion. He was the pioneer in promoting the endangered languages in school education using community knowledge. He was also the pioneer in adopting Mother tongue based multilingual education in Odisha adopting ten tribal languages in primary schools. Dr. Mishra is also a well-known folklorist for his work among the indigenous languages.
Dr. Mishra, a member of Language Development Board of Central Sahitya Akademi, is the recipient of Odisha Sahitya Akademi. He was also awarded with a national award for his lifetime achievement in tribal language and culture known as Veer Shankar Shah Raghunath Award. Besides, he has been awarded by Kalevala Institute Finland for his contribution to Kalevala, a national epic of Finland into Odia.

Egyptian President Bestows Global Best M-GOV Awards on IIT Indore Students
Niyati Totala and Neel Kalpeshkumar Parikh of The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore were awarded the prestigious medal by Egyptian President Abel Fattah Al-Sisi.
These students were the creators of the 'Blockbill' app. Blockbill is a blockchain-based receipt generation app that generates digital receipts for all of its users' transactions.
The "M-Gov Award" and the "GovTech Award" are annual awards organised by the UAE government as part of the World Government Summit. These awards are designed to encourage pioneering students, researchers, government agencies & institutions, private sector companies and start-ups to develop innovative solutions using the latest technologies in order to address evolving local and global challenges and explore new opportunities for a better future for humanity.
