World Food Safety Day (WFSD) is observed on June 7 every year. The United Nations established the day to highlight the importance of food safety and the need to prevent, detect, and manage foodborne hazards in order to ensure food security for all. WFSD is observed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) jointly with the cooperation of Member States and other relevant organizations.
The United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on December 20, 2018 and declared June 7 as World Safety Day.
The theme for World Food Safety Day 2024 is 'Food Safety: Prepare for the Unexpected'.

World Environment Day is one of the biggest international events for the environment. It is a platform that raises awareness about the environmental problems faced by our planet. The day also serves as a platform to promote environmental changes and sustainable practices. This year (2024), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosted the 2024 Environment Day celebration during which land restoration, desertification and drought resilience were the key topics of discussion.

On August 19, 1982, the UN General Assembly's special session focused on the plight that Palestinian and Lebanese children faced due to Israeli aggression during the Lebanon war. The assembly further pledged to protect the rights of the children in Lebanon. The UN General Assembly announced that every year, on June 4, International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression will be observed.

World Bicycle Day

World Bicycle Day was first marked on June 3, 2018, following a resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on April 12, 2018, during its 72nd Regular Session. The resolution was supported by all 193 member states, encouraging the inclusion of bicycles in regional, sub-national and international development programs and policies.
