Ministry of Social Justice Launches an E-study Platform "TAPAS"
Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has launched an online portal named TAPAS (Training for Augmenting Productivity and Services) to provide filmed lectures/courses and e-study material in the field of social defence. TAPAS is the initiative of the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The course can be taken up by anyone and is free of cost.
All Sainik Schools Will Now Admit Girls
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that all Sainik Schools in the country will now be open for girls also. At present, 33 Sainik schools are operating in the country.
During his Independence Day speech, the Prime Minister said that two-and-a-half years ago, the maiden experiment of admitting girls in Sainik schools was carried out in Mizoram.
"Now, the government has decided that all the Sainik schools in the country will also be open for the daughters of the country," he said.
Sainik schools are run by the Sainik Schools Society which is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence.

IIM-Calcutta Launches One-year Executive Programme in Healthcare Management
The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta announced a one-year executive programme in healthcare management (EPHM) commencing from September 2021. The programme aims to provide an outlook of the healthcare sector across the world, the latest policies and their implementation. This also comprises practices such as disaster and epidemic management which is extremely relevant for professionals in the current environment.
The objective of the programme is to develop an interdisciplinary orientation towards the management of healthcare and training the participants in managerial leadership. The course also familiarises participants with innovation and entrepreneurship in the Indian healthcare sector and inculcating comparative frameworks in understanding healthcare challenges in developing countries.

IMS Ghaziabad Organises 'Journey from Campus to Corporate' Program
The Institute of Management Studies (IMS) Ghaziabad organised a re-orientation program "Journey from Campus to Corporate" for the PGDM batch 2020-2022. Debargha Deb, Head-HR (North Zone), Dabur India was the Chief Guest of the occasion and Ranjana Mittal, Assistant General Manager, NTPC as the keynote speaker graced the event.
As per reports, the students were told about the academic activities planned in the upcoming session and were briefed on the various innovative practices introduced for corporate readiness such as Value Added Short Term Training Program, Competency Mapping, Pre Placement Preparedness and Placement Readiness Enhancement Programme.
The session served as a morale booster for the final year students who will soon be participating in the excellent placement offerings at IMS Ghaziabad.

ISRO Chief K. Sivan Inaugurates Health QUEST Study
ISRO chief, K. Sivan has formally inaugurated the Health QUEST study (Health Quality Upgradation Enabled by Space Technology of ISRO) which will be undertaken by 20 private hospitals across India. The event was co-organised by the Association of Health Care Providers India (AHPI) and the Society for Emergency Medicine in India (SEMI).
The objective of the study is to strive towards reducing human errors and achieve zero defect and quality service in the emergency and intensive care units of the hospital. The study aims to upgrade healthcare standards in line with ISRO quality standards and best practices. The quality assurance mechanism in vogue in ISRO will be shared with the study team to establish the parameters for healthcare quality standards.

Delhi Govt. Signs MoU with IB Board for Delhi Board of School Education
Delhi Government signed an MoU with International Baccalaureate (IB) Board. IB will be associated with the upcoming Delhi Board of School Education.
The International Baccalaureate board is a private international education board with a foundation office located in Geneva. Around 5,000 schools globally are affiliated with the IB board. Currently, 193 schools in India are affiliated with the IB board, all of which are private schools.
