The Shikshak Parv 2021 was observed through video conferencing by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Ministers of State for Education Jitin Prasada. PM Modi launched multiple initiatives for the education sector at this event.
The Prime Minister also launch five initiatives on the occasion, including Indian Sign Language dictionary of 10,000 words, Talking Books (audio books for visually impaired), School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Framework (SQAAF) of CBSE, NISTHA teachers' training programme for NIPUN Bharat, and Vidyanjali Portal for facilitating education volunteers, donors and CSR contributors for school development.
The theme of the Shikshak Parv 2021 was 'Quality and Sustainable Schools: Learnings from Schools in India'.
IIM Nagpur to Open Satellite Campus in Pune
Soon, Pune will be home to yet another prestigious educational institution, with the first Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in the city expected to be set up by the end of 2021.
IIM-Nagpur has decided to establish its first-ever satellite campus in Pune, which is a known educational hub housing top colleges across streams and universities, alongside colleges and academies of the Indian Armed Forces. The campus will be located at the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT), Pune, with which the B-school will partner for its courses.

IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore in Top-50 QS Global Full-Time MBA Rankings
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore has joined IIM Ahmedabad in the top-50 list of the latest Global Full-Time MBA Rankings by one of the leading global business school analysts QS Quacquarelli Symonds.
Composing the world's 286 strongest global MBA offerings, the latest rankings have seen the likes of IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Calcutta along with the Indian School of Business (ISB) improve their performances over the previous year.
Along with the Global Full-Time MBA, QS also released a series of specialised high-demand Business Masters rankings, including Masters in Business Analytics, Masters in Marketing, and Masters in Finance.
NIRF Rankings 2021: IIT Madras Ranks Best Institution in India
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Madras was ranked the best higher education institution in the country for the third year in a row by the Education Ministry, which released its India Rankings 2021 under the National Institutional Ranking Framework.
In the university category, IISc Bengaluru was the best-ranked varsity followed by JNU and BHU at the second and third spot, as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2021. IISc Bengaluru – overall second, the best in university category – is also the top ranking institute in newly introduced category research.

NIT Andhra Pradesh Recognised as Best Institute in South India 2021
The National Institute of Technology, NIT Andhra Pradesh has been recognised as the 'Best Institute in South India 2021' by the Centre for Education Growth and Research, a New Delhi-based Education Think Tank.
The award was presented during the 15th Rashtriya Shiksha Gaurav Puraskar Ceremony held in September 2021. The award was presented in recognition of the outstanding and exemplary contribution of NIT Andhra Pradesh towards Education Skill Development and Research.
NIT Andhra Pradesh is an 'Institute of National Importance' and is the youngest among the 31 NITs started by the Government of India. NIT Andhra Pradesh was established in the State of Andhra Pradesh during the academic year 2015-16.

PM Modi Launches Five New Initiatives for Accessible Education
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed teachers and students during the inaugural conclave of 'Shikshak Parv' via video-conferencing. He launched multiple key initiatives in the education sector on the occasion. The Ministry of Education (MoE) is celebrating Shikshak Parv, 2021 from September 5-17 in recognition of the valuable contributions of teachers and to take National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 a step forward.

Delhi Govt. Launches 'Business Blasters' Programme in All its Schools
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia launched the Delhi government's 'Business Blasters' programme which aims at developing young entrepreneurs at the school-level by providing students seed money to start a business.
The programme will be implemented in all Delhi government schools under the "Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum (EMC)".
As part of the programme, which he said was "successful as a pilot project", class 11 and 12 students will be provided seed money of Rs. 2,000 to start a business.
This programme, for the students of classes 11-12, is going to be the basis of the country's progress. Through this, children will not run after jobs, but jobs will come after these children.

In World First, Cuba Starts COVID-19 Vaccine for Toddlers
Cuba became the first country in the world to vaccinate children from the age of two against Covid-19, using home-grown jabs not recognised by the World Health Organisation.
The communist island of 11.2 million people aims to inoculate all its children before reopening schools that have been closed for the most part since March 2020.
Having completed clinical trials on minors with its Abdala and Soberana vaccines, Cuba kicked off its inoculation campaign for children, starting with those 12 and older.
It started distributing jabs in the 2-11 age group in the central province of Cienfuegos.
Several other countries in the world are vaccinating children from the age of 12, and some are conducting trials in younger kids.
