Bangalore University Introduces 4-year BA/BSc Honours Course

With the implementation of the new National Education Policy (NEP), Bangalore University said it is starting four-year Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science Honours degree courses from the academic year 2021-22.
The courses are skill-based, choice-based and cross-disciplinary, trans-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary in nature that would provide the students the option of electives across the disciplines as per the objectives of the new NEP.

NCERT Launches One-year Diploma in Guidance and Counselling

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) announced a one-year diploma course for the training of professionals in guidance and counselling.
The course will be a mixture of both distance and face-to-face modes. The course aims at enhancing the skills and competencies of teachers to promote the holistic development of students and handle their academic, socio-emotional, and ethical problems.

L&T Forays into Online Learning Space, Launches L&T EduTech

Engineering and construction major L&T entered the lucrative education Technology (EdTech) sector with the launch of L&T EduTech, an application-based learning platform, which will provide practical-oriented engineering and technology courses.
As per reports, L&T EduTech aims to future-proof L&T's businesses and bridge the gap that exists today between the competence of young engineers and industry expectations.
L&T EduTech will channelise L&T's storehouse of knowledge and expertise gained from having executed some of the most complex and demanding projects over the decades to empower both students and professionals with real world professional skills to enhance their employability.
L&T EduTech offers courses under three verticals -- College Connect, Professional and Vocational Skilling – backed by robust Assessment and Certification processes. While College Connect will empower students with practical and application-based learning, Professional Skilling will enable aspiring professionals to fast-track careers in their domains. Vocational Skilling involves skill certification programmes.

DRDO Chief Lays Foundation Stone of Kalam Centre for Science and Technology

Defence R&D Secretary and DRDO Chairman Dr. G Satheesh Reddy laid the foundation stone for construction of the Kalam Centre for Science and Technology (KCST) in the campus of Central University of Jammu.
Reddy said that KCST will emerge as a focussed research and prominent work centre in the country.

NTA Launches National Aptitude Test for Skill Assessment

National Testing Agency, NTA, launched a National Aptitude Test (NAT 2021), an ability profiler exam for students aged 13 to 25. It aims to guide students toward the right institutions and skills training. Candidates can register themselves at the official website of NAT, nat.nta.ac.in. NTA conducts national medical and engineering exams, NEET and JEE Main.
NAT 2021 will be conducted at four levels for different age groups-Level 1 (13-15 Years), level 2 (16-18 Years), level 3 (19-21 years), level 4 (22-25 Years). The exam will be conducted on October 23 and 24 in an internet-based mode within a duration of two hours.
