India, New Zealand Navies Sign Pact on White Shipping Information Exchange
Indian Navy signed an agreement with the Royal New Zealand Navy on White Shipping Information Exchange. The agreement was signed between R. Hari Kumar, Navy Chief Admiral, and Rear Admiral David Proctor, Chief of the New Zealand Navy.
The agreement was signed to promote greater transparency in the Maritime Domain. CNS Hari Kumar visited New Zealand from September 29 to October 1, 2022. Closer collaboration for enhancing shared Maritime Domain Awareness is in keeping with converge.
The White Shipping Information is the exchange of prior information regarding the movement and identity of commercial non-military merchant vessels.
Ships are classified into white, black, and grey signifying commercial, illegal, and military vessels respectively.
White Shipping Agreement is an information network protocol that permits the navies of two countries to share information about ships in their oceanic territories.
Sanjeev Kishore Takes Over as Director General Ordnance
1985-batch officer of the Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS), Sanjeev Kishore, tookn over as the Director General Ordnance (C&S) upon the superannuation of M. K. Grag.
Before taking over the charge of DGO (C &S), Kishore was the Additional Director General Ordnance at the Directorate of Ordnance (Coordination & Services), Kolkata.
Kishore has held many senior positions, including that of the first CMD of Armoured Vehicles Nigam Ltd (AVNL), one of the seven new DPSUs formed by the Government of India in 2021. He has ensured smooth transition of Armoured group of factories from Government department to a corporation. AVNL recorded profit in its first six months of operation under his leadership.

India and South Korea Hold Naval Exercise
The navies of India and South Korea participated in a maritime partnership exercise in the Bay of Bengal.
Indian warship INS Sumedha participated in the exercise with Republic of Korea navy ships Hansando and Dae Cheong.
The exercise included helicopter operations, communication drills and tactical manoeuvres. The interaction was aimed at strengthening maritime cooperation and inter-operability between the two navies.

'Prachand': The First Made-in-India Light Combat Helicopters
The Indian Air Force inducted the first batch of made-in-India light combat helicopters. which are called 'Prachand'. This marks an important milestone, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, as the government's 'Atma Nirbhar Abhiyan' expands in the defence sector.
The induction took place at the airbase in Jodhpur, which holds a legacy for the Air Force. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and IAF chief Air Chief Marshal V.R. Chaudhari were also present at the event.
The light combat helicopter have been developed by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
Sujoy Lal Thaosen, Anish Dayal Singh Appointed New DGs of CRPF, ITBP
Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers Sujoy Lal Thaosen and Anish Dayal Singh were appointed as the new Directors General of the CRPF and ITBP, respectively.
Thaosen, a 1988-batch officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, is currently working as the director general (DG) of the border guarding force Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and holding the additional charge of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) DG post fell vacant after IPS officer Kuldiep Singh (1986-batch West Bengal cadre) retired from service. Thaosen was holding the additional charge of ITBP DG after his batchmate and incumbent Sanjay Arora was appointed Delhi Police Commissioner in August 2022.
The Centre appointed former Air Chief Marshal (Retd) Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria as Chief Nodal Officer for the UPDIC project. The Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) is a project under the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA).
The project is expected to reduce foreign dependency of the Indian aerospace and defence sector.
Bhadauria has over four decades of experience with defence services.

India Signs deal with Armenia for Export of Missiles, Weapon Systems
After clashes between Armenian and Azerbaijan troops, India would export missiles, rockets and ammunition, including indigenous Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers, to Armenia to help defend the nation against the neighbour Azerbaijan.
India signed an order for the arms export through a government-to-government route, through which the two nations inked contracts for the supply of arms and ammunition to Armenia.
This development came in a bid to push the government's efforts to increase weapons exports, with policy reforms and active support of the government to secure overseas orders.
