The Ministry of Tourism identified 'Prayagraj' and 'Naimisharanya' in Uttar Pradesh as destinations for development under 'Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0) with the objective to develop sustainable and responsible tourism destinations.
In a written reply in Lok Sabha Minister of Tourism G. Kishan Reddy said that the State Perspective Plan (SPP) prepared by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh did not include Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary for development. He further added that the government launched 'Swadesh Darshan Scheme' (SDS) in the year 2014-15 for integrated development of Theme-Based Tourist Circuits in the country and there are 08 projects of identified thematic circuits in Uttar Pradesh.

Lavasa, India's First Private Hill Station, Sold for Rs 1.8k crore
The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approved the sale of Lavasa hill station to Darwin Platform Infrastructure for Rs.1.8k crore.
The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) cleared the sale of Lavasa, India's first private hill station to Darwin Platform Infrastructure for Rs.1.8k crore. NCLT also approved Darwin's resolution plan, which included a payout of Rs. 1,814 crore. This sum consists of Rs. 929 crore paid to the lenders and Rs. 438 crore used to provide 837 accepted homeowners with fully built homes.
The main aim of the resolution plan of the Darwin Platform Infrastructure is to satisfy the homebuyers' claims and deliver completed houses within five years of receiving environmental clearance on an actual basis with a claim amount of Rs. 6,642 crore.
Lavasa hill station is located in the picturesque Mulshi Valley in the Western Ghats close to Pune. It was created by the Hindustan Construction Company in 2000 as the first private hill city in India.

Henley Passport Index 2023: India Rises Five Spots
In the latest ranking published by Henley Passport Index Singapore replaced Japan with having the world's most powerful passport, allowing visa-free entry to 192 global destinations. According to the latest Henley Passport Index, India has shown a substantial improvement in its ranking. The Indian passport improved by five places and is now ranked 80th in the latest Henley Passport Index, and it provides visa-free access to 57 destinations.
Germany, Italy, and Spain occupy the second place. Alongside Japan at the third position are Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, South Korea, and Sweden. The U.K. climbed two places to occupy the fourth place, while the U.S. continued its decade-long slide down the index, dropping two places to the eighth spot. Both the U.K. and the U.S. jointly held the first place on the index nearly 10 years ago in 2014.
Passport Index has become the most popular interactive online tool to display, sort, and rank the world's passports.
Notably, the Henley Passport Index, originally created by Dr. Christian H. Kaelin, is based on data provided by the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) and covers 199 passports and 227 travel destinations.
It is updated in real-time throughout the year, as and when visa policy changes come into effect.
