Woman Paralympic Medalist Deepa Malik Appointed 'NiKshay Mitra' Ambassador
Union Health Ministry designated Padma Shri, Khel Ratna Arjuna Awardee and the President of the Paralympic Committee of India, Deepa Malik as Nikshay Mitra ambassador in New Delhi. It is an initiative under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. Deepa Malik expressed her commitment to the TB Mukt Bharat (TB-free India) campaign, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2018.
Deepa highlighted that "health is the ultimate wealth", urging participation in the movement, contributing to building momentum to ensure India becomes free of TB by 2025. She further extended her support to the campaign by becoming a NiKshay Mitra, an initiative launched by President Droupadi Murmu which strives to provide aid to TB-afflicted patients on three levels of nutritional, additional diagnostic, and vocational support.
Veteran Actor Vikram Gokhale Passes Away
Veteran film, television and stage actor Vikram Gokhale passed away due to multi-organ failure. He was 77.
He was born on November 14, 1945 when his father Chandrakant Gokhale was a leading star and singer of Marathi cinema. His grandmother was Kamlabhai Gokhale was the Indian film industry's first female child actor.
The actor made his film debut with the Bachchan-starrer "Parwana" in 1971 after dabbling as an actor with Marathi theatre, featuring in several plays.
Gokhale won the National Award for Best Actor at the 60th National Film Awards for the Marathi movie Anumati in 2013.

Rasna's Founder Areez Khambatta Passes Away
Founder and chairman of Rasna group, Areez Khambatta has been passed away at the age of 85 due to cardiac arrest in Ahmedabad. Khambatta had established the popular orange-flavoured beverage brand in 1976.
He was awarded the President of India's Home Guard and Civil Defence Medal, as well as the Paschimi Star, Samarseva, and Sangram Medals. He was honoured with the National Citizen's Award for his outstanding contribution in the field of commerce.

Veteran Actress, Popular Doordarshan Host Tabassum Passes Away
Veteran actress Tabassum, known for her work as a child artiste and also as host of popular Doordarshan talk show "Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan", died after suffering a cardiac arrest.
In the 1950s, Tabassum acted in movies such as "Sargam", "Sangram", "Deedar", and "Baiju Bawra".
She also had a minor role in the 1960 historical epic "Mughal-e-Azam", starring Prithviraj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Madhubala.
After a few more films, Tabassum took up the job of the host of "Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan", which was Indian television's first talk show.
She emceed the show from 1972 to 1993 during which she interviewed several big stars of the Indian film industry.

Indian Basketball Legend Abbas Moontasir Passes Away
The former India basketball captain and Arjuna awardee, Gulam Abbas Moontasir, passed away in Mumbai. He was born in Mumbai in 1942. He started playing in Nagpada by the American missionaries, later he started getting inclined towards basketball. From Nagpada Basketball Association to the International stage, he has always been an aggressive player with a unique physical style on the court.
His basketball debut came in 1960 in an exhibition game against Australia. He captained the national team in the 1969 and 1975 Asian Basketball Championships in Bangkok. He was part of the Indian team at the 1970 Asian Games, which finished sixth after topping a group that also contained China, Thailand and Malaysia. In the same year, Muntasir was selected in the Asian All-Star team and received the Arjuna Award, the first basketball player to receive this honour.

Religare Enterprises Signs Olympian Yogeshwar Dutt as Brand Ambassador
Financial services company Religare Enterprises Limited (REL) signed Padma Shri awardee and Indian freestyle wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, as its brand ambassador.
He will be the face of the company's integrated brand marketing campaigns across mediums, the company said in a statement. Dutt is an Olympics, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games medallist.
