Kurkure Gets Sara Ali Khan as New Brand Ambassador
PepsiCo owned snacking brand Kurkure named Bollywood star Sara Ali Khan as the new brand ambassador, replacing actor Akshay Kumar.
Kurkure, a snacking brand developed in India is one of the eight power brands within PepsiCo India's portfolio. PepsiCo sells both beverages and foods in India.
PepsiCo also sells salty snacks under Doritos and Lay's. Kurkure is also manufactured and sold in countries like the UAE, Canada, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

Former CJI Aziz Mushabber Ahmadi Dies
Former Chief Justice of India Aziz Mushabber Ahmadi passed away. He was 90.
Ahmadi became the Chief Justice with effect from October 25, 1994. Justice Ahmadi, third Muslim ever to serve as CJI, demitted office on March 24, 1997.
Born in March 1932 in Surat, Ahmadi was appointed Judge, City Civil & Sessions Court, Ahmedabad in March, 1964.
He was appointed secretary to the Gujarat government's legal department in June, 1974.
Ahmadi was appointed as a judge in the Gujarat High Court in September 1976.
He also served as president of the Supreme Court Legal Aid Committee and as the executive chairman of the Committee for Implementing Legal Aid Schemes in India from November 1, 1990 to October 24, 1994.
He also served as Chancellor at the Aligarh Muslim University for two terms.

Rajesh Malhotra appointed as Principal DG of PIB
Senior Indian Information Service (IIS) officer Rajesh Malhotra has been appointed as the Principal Director General of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), news agency PTI reported. In his new role, he will be the principal spokesperson of the government of India.
Malhotra will replace Satyendra Prakash, who took charge as Principal DG of PIB in August 2022.
Malhotra, a 1989 batch officer, was promoted to a higher grade of IIS in June last year and was subsequently appointed as the Principal Director General of the Central Bureau of Communication. In that role, he spearheaded the publicity of the Ministry of Finance in the PIB.
Malhotra comes with 30 years of operational experience in planning and implementation of Media & Communication strategies for the Election Commission of India and various Central Government Ministries/Departments including Finance, Company Affairs, Agriculture, Power, Coal, Mines, Communications & IT, Textiles, Labour, New & Renewable Energy.

Ranveer Singh is New Brand Ambassador of Pepsi
Pepsi signed up Ranveer Singh as its new brand ambassador as it switched to a new tagline — "Rise Up, Baby!"
The change in tagline came at a time of the year when demand for cold beverages typically witnesses its highest demand.
The cola brand changed its tagline after a gap of four years, as it seeks to capture a news base of young consumers entering the segment. The brand Pepsi globally also entered into its 125th year.
In 1992, it had "Yahi Hai Right Choice Baby", which was followed by "Yeh Dil Maange More" in 1998.
Prior to "Rise Up, Baby", its tagline was "Har Ghoont Mein Swag".

Classical Dance Legend Kanak Rele Passes Away
Classical dance legend Kanak Rele passed away at the age of 85. The Mohiniyattam exponent was awarded the first Guru Gopinath National Puraskaram of the Government of Kerala. Kanak Rele was the founding director of the Nalanda Dance Research Institute, Mumbai and the founding principal of the Nalanda Dance Kala Mahavidyalaya. She played a major role in popularizing Mohiniyattam and making it globally prominent.
Kanak Rele received various awards and prizes over her nearly eight-decade-long dancing career, including the Padma Shri (1989), Padma Bhushan (2013), Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1994), Kalidas Samman (2006), M. S. Subbulak.
TCA Ramanujam, retired Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, advocate, Sanskrit scholar and columnist with Business Line, passed away. He was 88.
Ramanujam retired in 1992 as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax and served as a member of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal for a year. He resumed practice as an advocate and represented the Income Tax department as a senior standing counsel in 2002.
A versatile scholar and economist, he had varied interests, including music, dance, literature (English and Tamil), Vedas, religion and temples.
