ITC Hotels Signs up First Property in Udaipur under its New Brand Mementos

  • Mementos by ITC-- the latest brand addition to ITC Hotels' bouquet, signed up its first property Ekaaya in Udaipur. The Mementos brings together a collection of unique hotels, across varied destinations ranging from modern marvels, hidden retreats to historic treasures.
  • Brand "Mementos" would help the hotel chain to deliver unique luxury stays across different destinations, particularly the ones that remain a secret. IRCTC Plans Shri Ramayana Yatra Train Tours to Promote Religious Tourism

  • To promote religious tourism, the IRCTC has planned a series of Shri Ramayana Yatra Tours, which will mark a gradual resumption of domestic tourism by trains in view of the improved COVID-19 situation.
  • The first departure on the Ramayana Circuit train commenced on November 7 from New Delhi followed by four other departures in the subsequent month.
  • To meet the requirement of the pilgrim tourist market of south India, IRCTC will be operating Shri Ramayana Yatra Express-Madurai with its budget-segment train comprising of sleeper class coaches.

London's Famous Tower Bridge Wins Gold in England Tourism Awards

  • London's iconic Tower Bridge has won a coveted gold accolade in Visit England's excellence awards.
  • The exhibition at the bridge over the River Thames gives tourists the chance to experience panoramic views of London from a high-level walkway with a glass floor, as well as visit the drawbridge's Victorian engine room, reports Xinhua news agency.
  • The tourist attraction was one of 26 gold winners in Visit England's 2021 awards, which also give accolades for hidden gems, the best-told stories, quality of welcome and food quality.
  • The awards are based on the scores gained by tourist attractions in their annual assessments by VisitEngland, which were nevertheless delayed this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • With this partnership, MakeMyTrip will be able to extend its distribution further via Amazon Pay's large customer base, especially in smaller cities and towns and accelerate online booking of travel services across the country.

  • The Government of Kerala has made registration mandatory for service providers in the adventure tourism sector for conducting a wide range of land, water, and air-related activities to ensure their quality and safety.
  • The procedures and protocols of Adventure Tourism Safety and Security Regulations for according registration for operators were drawn up by Kerala Adventure Tourism Promotion Society (KATPS), which functions under the Department of Tourism.
  • KAPTS had set up an expert committee to prepare safety parameters for the adventure tourism sector. The panel, led by former KATPS Chief Executive Officer Manesh Bhaskar, had prepared a consolidated 'Adventure Tourism Safety and Security Regulations' by taking into account the currently popular 31 adventure tourism activities in the state.
