Bangalore Airport wins SKYTRAX Award for Best Regional Airport

The Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru has won the SKYTRAX Award 2020. The airport was chosen as the Best Regional Airport in India and Central Asia by the customers at the 2020 World Airport Awards.
Changi Airport, Singapore was voted the World's Best Airport for 8th consecutive year, while Tokyo Haneda Airport was voted the World's Cleanest Airport, and Paris Orly Airport was voted the World's Most Improved Airport at the 2020 World Airport Awards.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai was voted as Best Airport Staff in India & Central Asia.

Ministry of Tourism organized 18th Webinar

The Ministry of Tourism organized the 18th Dekho Apna Desh webinar series on 12 May, 2020. It was titled 'Odisha-India's Best kept secret' and took the participants on a virtual journey into Odisha.
The webinar gave a brief introduction to the State of Odisha and highlighting on the key selling proposition of Odisha such as its ancient civilization, famous temples with Kalinga style of architecture, long coastline endowed with beautiful beaches, arts and handicrafts, culture, popular dance forms such as Odissi, Gotipua, forests.

Ministry of Tourism organizes 16th Webinar

Ministry of Tourism, Government of India's DekhoApna Desh Webinar Series titled , "Goa- Crucible of Culture" on 7th May, 2020 presented the 'lesser known' or 'unknown' travel experiences that India's most popular tourist destination 'Goa' offers, thus bringing the participants face to face with the unknown beauty of a place which is waiting to be discovered in Goa.
The International Film Festival of India, Goa Arts,Literature Festival, Serendipity Arts Festival, local festivals, Music, food, architecture, and painting featured in the presentation.

Tourism Ministry To Organize A Series Of Webinars On Overall Theme Of 'Dekho Apna Desh'

Tourism Ministry is organizing a series of Webinars on the overall theme of 'Dekho Apna Desh'. The objective of these webinars is to create awareness about and promote various tourism destinations of India. These include the lesser known destinations and lesser known facets of popular destinations.
In addition, thematic Webinars are also being organised on subjects such as Accessible Tourism. The 6th Webinar of the series was organized on 22nd March on the subject 'Making India an Inclusive Travel Destination For All'. This webinar was heard live by more than 1700 people from all across the world.

Deserted Thai Beaches Lure Rare Turtles To Build Most Nests In 20 Years

Thailand has found the largest number of nests of rare leatherback sea turtles in two decades on beaches bereft of tourists because of the coronavirus pandemic.
From wild boars patrolling the Israeli city of Haifa to deer venturing into London suburbs, virus closures are drawing wildlife into the abandoned streets of many cities.
In Thailand, with 2,765 infections and 47 deaths, travel curbs ranging from a ban on international flights to an appeal to citizens to stay home have brought a collapse in tourist numbers, but freed up the beaches for wildlife.
