CBSE, NCERT To Launch 'Tamanna' Aptitude Test For Class 9, 10 Students
In a bid to help students make the right career choices, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) have launched an online aptitude test called as 'Tamanna' (Try And Measure Aptitude And Natural Abilities).
Tamanna is an aptitude test that aims at helping students of Class 9 and 10 make a better choice of subjects, eventually helping them in making an informed decision while choosing subjects in Class 11 and 12.
CBSE (Know your aptitude) KYA exam assesses a student's weaknesses and strengths in academics.
Karnataka Govt Approves ₹667 Cr For Nirbhaya Fund
The Karnataka government approved ₹667 crore for various projects for women's safety, including the installation of 7,500 cameras in Bengaluru, under the Nirbhaya Fund.
J.C. Madhuswamy, the state minister for law, parliamentary affairs and minor irrigation, said the cabinet had given its nod for the proposed "safe city project" for women which would include installation of global information system mapping, among other infrastructure.

India To Celebrated Silver Jubilee Of Pulse Polio Programme On 31 October
Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said, the Government will soon achieve its goal of Universal Immunization of children.
The Minister said that, at present, up to 90 per cent of children in India are being given free immunization, but the country's goal is to bring all children under the purview of the Universal Immunization Programme.
He was briefing the media in New Delhi in the run-up to the government's celebration of the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme's Silver Jubilee, which will be held on the 31st October, 2019.

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has joined hands with UNICEF and Ministry of Women and Child Development to raise awareness and speak up against sexual abuse of children.
Ayushmann has boarded the ministry's key initiative, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), with an aim to make people aware of the protection and legal support that the Act offers against child sexual abuse.

United Nations WFP Launches 'Feed Our Future' Cinema Ad Campaign
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has launched a cinema advertisement campaign 'Feed Our Future' to raise awareness and take steps against hunger and malnutrition in India.
The campaign launch event included a panel discussion hosted by TV host Mini Mathur, which had actor-director Nandita Das and filmmakers Neeraj Ghaywan and Anubhav Sinha sharing their perspectives over cinema and social change.
AYUSH, Defence Ministries Ink MoU To Provide Traditional Medicine Services
The AYUSH ministry has signed an MoU with the Defence ministry to provide traditional medicine services at the armed forces' hospitals and dispensaries. Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik inaugurated an Ayurveda Palliative Care Unit at the Base Hospital in the Delhi Cantonment.
Under the MoU, ayurveda units will also be established at palliative care centres at the Army Research and Referral Hospital, Air Force Hospital, Hindon in Ghaziabad and five identified ex-service men Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) polyclinics in Delhi –NCR.

Dr Vardhan Shares India's Vision For Inclusive Health At G20 Okayama Health Ministers Meet
Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Harsh Vardhan attended the G20 Okayama Health Ministers' Meeting on October 19-20, 2019 held under the Presidency of Japan in Okayama City, Japan.
The deliberations of the G 20 Health Ministers focused on four major global health issues, like achievement of universal health coverage, response to population aging, management of health risks and health security management including anti-microbial resistance and its containment.
The Union Health Minister made specific interventions on all of them.
Intervening on Universal Health Coverage (UHC), Prime Minister's vision of 'Sab Ka Saath; Sab Ka Vikas; Sab Ka Vishwas' for inclusive health was highlighted along with Ayushman Bharat, FIT India Movement and Eat Right Campaign.
The Minister confided that India is on the path to UHC and will contribute effectively in sustaining UHC at the global level.
On "Response to Population Aging" Dr Vardhan, during his intervention, shared India's vision for its projected 20 per cent elderly population by 2050.

1st Joint Committee Meeting Under 2nd Memorandum Of Cooperation Signed On Healthcare In Tokyo
Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare co-chaired the 1st Joint Committee Meeting (JCM) in Tokyo along with Dr. Hiroto Izumi, Special Advisor to Prime Minister under the 2nd Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) signed on Healthcare and Wellness in October 2018 during the visit of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Japan in context of Ayushman Bharat of India and Asia Health and Well-Being Initiative (AHWIN) of Japan.
The Joint Committee reviewed the status of ongoing activities under the MOC and noted with satisfaction the progress on these activities which are meant to promote mutual benefit for the peoples of both the countries.
Arvind Kejriwal Inaugurates 100 More Mohalla Clinics In Delhi
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated 100 more Mohalla Clinics in the national capital. These new health clinics, a total of 302 Mohalla Clinics are now functional in the city. These clinics are part of the city government's push to set up 1,000 neighbourhood clinics in the national capital.
100 more such clinics were ready and would become operational. In such clinics, facilities of diagnostic tests such as lipid profile, kidney and liver function test are available free of cost.
New Mohalla clinics would provide healthcare facilities to over 36 lakh patients every year.
