Honey Bee Network Creativity Inclusive Innovation Award 2020

A Maharashtra teacher, who did not allow coronavirus-induced lockdown to come in the way of continuing his classes for his students in rural areas, has won recognition for his efforts that involved use of conference calls and storytelling.
Balaji Baburao Jadhav, who hails from Sangavi village under Renapur tehsil of Latur district in central Maharashtra, has been selected for the Honey Bee Network Creativity Inclusive Innovation Award 2020.
He is a Zilla Parishad teacher at Vijayanagar in Maan tehsil of Satara district and won the award for his teaching through conference call method.

AIIMS Bhubaneswar Receives Kayakalp Award for 3rd Time

The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar has proved its mettle once again for promoting cleanliness, hygiene and creating sustainable practices in public health facilities by winning the Kayakalp Award Scheme. AIIMS Bhubaneswar will get an award of Rs. 2 crore for the performance.
The institute has been adjudged as the best central government hospital under B category for cleanliness for a third consecutive year. It had earlier received the award in 2018 as well as in 2019 for becoming second cleanest hospital in the country among category B hospitals (less than 1000 beds) and received Rs. one crore as prize money.

PEDA Bags National Energy Conservation Award

Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has been awarded certificate of merit by the Ministry of Power for its achievements in energy conservation. It was received by Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, CEO, and MP Singh, director, from RK Singh, MoS (Power) through video conferencing.

Trump Awards Medal of Freedom to Ally Jim Jordan

US President Donald Trump awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Republican representative from Ohio Jim Jordan -- who is also regarded as one of the president's 'staunchest loyalists' in Congress -- citing his defences of the outgoing President against impeachment earlier last year and the Russia investigation.
Trump awarded the medal to Jim Jordan at a closed-door ceremony at the White House.
The Presidential Medal of Freedom is usually awarded to figures who have made significant contributions to their field or defended the interests of the United States. But Trump has awarded the medal to political allies, particularly in his final weeks in office.

Indian Railways Bags 13 Prizes at National Energy Conservation Awards 2020

The Indian Railways bagged 13 prizes at the National Energy Conservation Awards, 2020, which are given by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency to those organisations that put in special efforts to reduce energy consumption.
The 13 prizes were awarded to multiple zones and workshops of the national transporter.
As per reports, relentless and continuous efforts to provide clean and green transportation to all its stakeholders and commuters has resulted in Indian Railways bagging 13 awards in three prestigious categories of the National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) for the year 2020.
In the 'transport category', the Western Railway got the first prize, the Eastern Railway received the second prize, and the North Eastern Railway and the South Central Railway received Certificate of Merit, it said.
In the 'building category', Divisional Railway Manager's offices at Bhavnagar and Rajkot won the first and second prize, respectively.
The electrical department of Divisional Railway Manager office in the North Eastern Railway received Certificate of Merit in the building category.
