Punjab DISCOM Gets 'Top Performer' Award for Energy Conservation Measures
The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) was awarded as top performer among all DISCOMS across the country for energy conservation measures under Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) program of the Union Ministry for Power.
The award ceremony was held at New Delhi.
NTPC Conferred with the CBIP Award 2022
NTPC Limited, was honoured with the CBIP Award 2022 for 'Outstanding Contribution in Power Generation', attributed to its Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station, the largest power station in the country for its efficiency and high level of generation.
The award presented by R. K. Singh, Union Minister of Power, New and Renewable Energy.
The CBIP Awards are conferred to institutions/individuals for their outstanding contributions to the development of water, power and renewable energy sectors.
The award stands as testimony to NTPC's enduring contribution to the generation of power in the country.

Health Ministry Awards Porter Prize 2023 for Successfully Managing COVID-19
The Union Health Ministry was awarded the Porter Prize 2023 for successfully combating the COVID-19 crisis.
The prize was announced at The India Dialog, organized by Institute for Competitiveness (IFC) and US Asia Technology Management Centre (USATMC) at Stanford University.
The award was presented to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in the virtual presence of Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Secretary, MoHFW, Rajesh Bhushan.
The theme of the two-day conference was 'The Indian Economy 2023: Innovation, Competitiveness and Social Progress'.
The prize recognizes the strategy followed by the government of India in managing COVID-19, the approach and involvement of various stakeholders, especially the involvement of ASHA workers in the industry to create PPE kits.
Porter Prize is named after US citizen Michael E Porter, an economist, researcher, author, advisor, speaker and teacher.

Vinod Kumar Shukla Wins PEN/Nabokov Lifetime Achievement Award 2023
Acclaimed Hindi writer Vinod Kumar Shukla won the 2023 PEN/Nabokov Award for achievement in international literature, PEN America is one of the most prestigious literary prizes worldwide.
The short story writer, poet and essayist, Shukla, who is considered one of the greatest contemporary writers in the Hindi language, received the 59th Annual PEN Literary Award on March 2 at The Town Hall in New York.
The PEN/Nabokov award is conferred annually to a living author whose body of work is of enduring originality and consummate craftsmanship.
Previous winners have included Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o, Anne Carson, M. NourbeSe Philip, Sandra Cisneros, Edna O'Brien, and Adonis.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary leadership got global recognition. MIT Professor Hari Balakrishnan Wins 2023 Marconi Prize
Computer scientist Hari Balakrishnan was awarded the 2023 Marconi Prize. Balakrishnan is a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The Marconi Prize is a top honour for computer scientists and is awarded by the U.S. based Marconi Foundation. It is given to those who have made a significant contribution to increasing digital inclusivity through advanced information and communications technology.
Balakrishnan is cited "for fundamental contributions to wired and wireless networking, mobile sensing, and distributed systems".
Balakrishnan has previously won the Infosys Prize (2020) and the IEEE Koji Kobayashi Computers and Communications Award (2021).
Previous winners of the Marconi Prize include Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Google cofounder Sergey Brin, and sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke.
