Earth Day

Earth Day is celebrated on April 22, to protect the planet from things like pollution and deforestation.
The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970, when a United States senator from Wisconsin organized a national demonstration to raise awareness about environmental issues. Rallies took place across the country and, by the end of the year, the U.S. government had created the Environmental Protection Agency. By 1990, Earth Day was an event celebrated by more than 140 countries around the globe.
The theme for Earth Day 2023 was "Invest in Our Planet."

National Civil Services Day

National Civil Services Day is observed on April 21 each year, to highlight the importance of civil services and commemorate the work done by officers in civil service toward nation-building.
Though, National Civil Services Day was first observed on April 21, 2006. The reason for celebrating this particular day as National Civil Services Day goes far back in history. Our first Home Minister, also known as the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel believed in civil services as an essential component of nation-building. It was in 1947 while addressing the Probationary Officers at the All India Administrative Service Training School at Metcalfe House, Delhi, he first referred to the civil servants/ services as the " Steel Frame Of India". This accurately emphasizes the role civil servants have played and are expected to play for the growth and well-being of the Nation.

World Liver Day

World Liver Day is celebrated across the world on April 19. The day focuses on raising awareness about liver-related disorders and diseases as the highly complex organ of the body is responsible for immunity, digestion, as well as metabolism, making it important to keep the liver healthy. In India, liver ailments amount to the 10th most common reason for death, World Health Organisation (WHO) said.
The theme for World Liver Day 2023 was 'Be Vigilant, Do Regular Liver Check-Up, Fatty Liver Can Affect Anyone.'

World Heritage Day

World Heritage Day, also known as the International Day for Monuments and Sites is celebrated every year on April 18. This day is dedicated to promoting the importance of cultural heritage and raising awareness about the need to preserve historical sites and monuments across the globe. The day celebrates the unique and diverse cultural heritage across the world and encourages people to appreciate and safeguard it for future generations.
The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) proposed the idea of World Heritage Day in 1982, and it was approved by UNESCO's General Conference the following year. The first World Heritage Day was celebrated in 1983, and since then, it has become an important event for promoting awareness about cultural heritage.
The main aim of this day is to increase awareness about the importance of preserving cultural heritage sites and monuments.
The theme for World Heritage Day 2023 was "Heritage Changes".

World Hemophilia Day 2023: Tips that will help you take good care of kids with this rare bleeding...

Every year, World Hemophilia Day is observed on April 17 to raise awareness about the rare blood disorder and help those suffering from it lead a better life. The day was first commemorated by the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) in 1989 in remembrance of Frank Schnabel, who was born on April 17, 1942, and spent his entire life working to make the lives of those who were affected by this ailment better. The theme for this year is "Access for All: Prevention of Bleeds as the Global Standard of Care," and the goal is to persuade policymakers and governments to enhance access to care with a particular emphasis on better bleeding control.

World Chagas Disease Day 2023: 14th April

World Chagas Disease Day is observed every year on April 14th to raise awareness about a life-threatening illness that can cause severe heart and digestive problems.
It is also known as American trypanosomiasis, silent disease, or silenced disease.
It is more common in regions like Central America, Mexico, and South America.
The theme for 2023 is Time to integrate Chagas disease into primary health care.
World Chagas Disease Day was established in 2020.
