Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) Hold its 1st Court Meeting in Rail Bhawan

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) held its 1st Court meeting in Rail Bhawan in New Delhi. Chairing the meeting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology said that GSV is set to emerge as the best university in India and World, in line with PM Narendra Modi's vision, with its focus on Industry-driven approach and employability-oriented courses for the entire transportation and logistics sectors, including railways, aviation, marine engineering, highways, shipping, logistics and defence sectors.

IIT Roorkee, Kyoto University Launch Joint Lab on Healthy Aging in Japan

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) and Kyoto University (KU) inaugurated a joint research lab, named the Initiative for Intelligent ChemBioInformatics (IN-CBI), at Kyoto University in Japan. This state-of-the-art lab aims to advance research on healthy aging, beginning with a focus on eye vision, in collaboration with Narayan Nethralaya.
The initiative integrates expertise in biology, chemistry, artificial intelligence (AI), water science, and dietary habits to develop transformative solutions for global challenges.
The KU-IITR partnership is designed to harness cutting-edge technologies and multidisciplinary approaches to tackle health, biological, and environmental issues linked to aging. The collaboration emphasises IIT Roorkee's commitment to advancing interdisciplinary research aligned with global sustainable development goals.

IIT Guwahati and IRS Conduct India's First Underwater Welding Certification Programme

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, through its Technology Innovation Hub (TiH), in collaboration with the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), successfully conducted India's inaugural training and certification program in underwater welding and deep diving.

Five Indian Students Selected for Rhodes Scholarship 2025

Five Rhodes Scholars-Elect for India 2025 have been selected after a competitive application process and two rounds of preliminary interviews. The shortlisted finalists were interviewed and five were chosen to receive the prestigious scholarship.
The five winners of this scholarship are Rayan Chakrabarti, Vibha Swaminathan, Avanish Vats, Shubham Narwal, and Pal Aggarwal.
The Rhodes Scholarship is the world's preeminent and oldest graduate fellowship, based at the University of Oxford since 1903. The scholarships for India began in 1947 and have been awarded to five applicants each year. Students from anywhere in the world can apply for a Rhodes Scholarship.

Centre Launches PAIR Programme to Enhance Research in Higher Education

The Centre launched the Partnerships for Accelerated Innovation and Research (PAIR) programme, designed to elevate research capabilities in higher education institutions (HEIs) across India with limited research capabilities by fostering collaborations with top-tier institutions.
This follows the operationalisation of the programme discussed at the inaugural governing board meeting of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September this year (2024).
The programme will operate through a mentorship-driven hub-and-spoke framework to facilitate systematic research growth across institutions.

IIT Madras, IIT Palakkad Launch Collaborative Educational Initiative

In a move to enhance educational opportunities, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) and the Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad (IIT Palakkad) partnered to provide students with access to shared academic resources, research internships, and summer immersion programs.
The initiative is designed to leverage the strengths of both institutes, enriching the learning experiences of students in IIT Madras's Bachelor of Science (BS) program in Data Science and Applications and IIT Palakkad's undergraduate courses.
Through this collaboration, IITM BS (Data Science and Applications) students who meet the eligibility criteria can fulfil their credit requirements by taking courses at IIT Palakkad. Additionally, the MoU also allows undergraduate students at IIT Palakkad to enroll in courses on Data Science and Programming from the IITM BS programme. The collaboration will also facilitate student exchange programmes, internship opportunities, and other joint initiatives.
