A one-day National Workshop on 'Internationalisation of Higher Education in India', was organised by the Education Division of NITI Aayog, as a part of the NITI–State workshop series, an initiative under the State Support Mission, and in collaboration with its knowledge partners, IIT Madras, Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and Acumen at the IIT Madras campus in Chennai.
The workshop brought together officers from the Centre, State and UT Governments, Institutions of National Importance, Central Universities, State Public Universities, Private Universities, Deemed Universities, International Universities, and representatives from several countries and deliberated on challenges, best practices and policy interventions for implementing internationalisation initiatives in Indian higher education at the systemic and institutional levels as envisioned in the National Education Policy 2020.
NFRA and IIT Kanpur Jointly Organise a Hackathon on Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI
The National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur jointly organised a Hackathon to encourage students to build cutting-edge solutions using Large Language Models (LLM) and Generative AI.
The objective of the Hackathon was to demonstrate democratising complex financial statements so that financial information is more readable and understandable, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs said.
The challenge given was to transform financial data into clear, engaging stories to enable well informed decisions. The hackathon tried to address the challenge, leveraging GenAI. Teams attempted transformative solutions to simplify financial statements and unlock deeper insights.
IIM Ahmedabad to Launch First International Campus in Dubai by September 2025
The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) organised its 60th convocation at the Louis Kahn Plaza. While announcing the new campus, IIMA Director Professor Bharat Bhasker revealed that the institute's first international campus would open in Dubai in September 2025. This will make IIMA the first of the Indian Institute of Management to go international.
The convocation also saw the launch of the Madan Mohanka Centre of Excellence in Case Method of Learning, sponsored by industrialist and IIMA alumnus Madan Mohanka from the PGP 1967 batch. The center is aimed at strengthening the case study method of instruction.'
Professor and ex-chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Dr S Somanath was the guest of honour for the day. He conferred degrees on more than 1,200 students on four programmes.

IIT-Mandi, NSDC, NCU Launch BTech in Semiconductor Design & Technology
The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), IIT Mandi, and The NorthCap University (NCU), Gurugram, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) with a specialisation in Semiconductor Design and Technology. The agreement was formally signed at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi.
This partnership aims to address the rising demand for skilled professionals in India's semiconductor industry by equipping students with industry-relevant knowledge and hands-on training.
The four-year program is structured into eight semesters.
IIM Bodh Gaya Launches New Online Executive MBA Courses
The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya (IIM Bodh Gaya) introduced an Online Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme in partnership with TeamLease EdTech. The new programme is designed for mid-to-senior-level professionals. The two-year programme aims to equip learners with leadership and management skills while allowing them to continue their professional engagements.
The E-MBA program offers a curriculum covering essential management disciplines such as Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Strategy. The program is delivered by IIM Bodh Gaya's experienced faculty, along with industry experts who will provide insights into contemporary business challenges.

Gujarat, Punjab Lead with Three Languages Taught in 95% Schools
Gujarat and Punjab top the list of states in implementing the three-language policy, with over 95% of schools teaching three languages, according to data shared by Union Minister of State for Education Jayant Chaudhary in Parliament.
While 97.6% of schools in Gujarat teach three languages, this figure is 96.2% in Punjab, followed by 89.2% in Sikkim, the data showed. Gujarat has made the learning of Gujarati mandatory in schools, while Punjab has made Punjabi mandatory.
The national figure is 61.6%, the data showed.

The National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 emphasises the critical importance of universal and high-quality Early Childhood Education along with the power of multilingualism and the importance of including children's languages in primary education. To fulfil the vision of NEP 2020, the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSE&L), Ministry of Education has launched "Baalpan ki Kavita initiative: Restoring Bhartiya rhymes/poems for young children" for preparing a compendium of nursery rhymes/poems in all Bhartiya Bhasha and also in English, focusing on content relevant to the Indian context. The purpose of this initiative is that the young children can have better learning at the Foundational stage by becoming familiar with the world around them through easily understandable and joyful poems and rhymes, in their mother tongue.

IIT Bombay Launches e-PG Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay announced the launch of its e-Postgraduate Diploma (ePGD) in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), an online program designed to enhance the technical expertise of professionals and graduates in the field.
This ePGD has an in-depth curriculum comprising six courses, covering areas such as Advanced Programming, Computing Systems, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML). This ePGD will culminate with a graduation ceremony on campus, where alumni status will be conferred upon candidates successfully completing the course.
Georgia National University to Set up Varsity in Andhra
Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh said that Georgia National University (GNU) has signed an agreement with the state government to establish a varsity in North Andhra region at an outlay of Rs. 1,300 crore.
The Education Minister highlighted that this partnership would elevate education standards to a global level, calling it a "big leap" for higher education in the state.
Operations Kayakalp, Student-Teacher Ratio: UP Govt's Education Plan
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to ensure that no school in the state is without teachers. Chairing a review meeting of the Basic Education Department at his official residence in Lucknow, Adityanath said that the government's treasury is the public's money, and the government has no shortage of funds for quality education.
Emphasising the need to improve the teacher-student ratio in all districts and development blocks, he asserted that the government is committed to ensuring quality education for children under all circumstances and to achieve this, the state government is implementing Operation Kayakalp with inter-departmental coordination, focusing on 19 key parameters.
