IIT Professor Wins Global Recognition with Eni Award for Clean Water Innovations
Indian scientist Professor Thalappil Pradeep from IIT Madras was honoured with the esteemed Eni Award for his groundbreaking research in energy and environment. The award recognises his innovative work in providing affordable clean water using advanced nanoscale materials.

SJVN Bags 1st Prize in Swachhta Pakhwada Awards 2023 by MoP
The Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) was conferred with the first prize at the prestigious Swachhta Pakhwada Award - 2023 by the Union Ministry of Power. SJVN chairman Nand Lal Sharma received the prize from the Union Power Secretary Pankaj Agarwal in New Delhi.
Sharma said that the Swachhta Pakhwada Awards were conferred by the Union Ministry of Power to honour the public sector undertakings (PSUs) in the power sector for their exemplary performance during the 'Swachhta Pakhwada' from May 16 to 31 every year. The PSUs were evaluated on the basis of the initiatives undertaken to create awareness regarding the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan' among the masses.
The SJVN bagged the first prize while the PGCIL and PFC stood second and third, respectively. The SJVN had secured the top spot last year as well.
NTPC Wins ET HR World Future Skills Awards 2023
NTPC received the prestigious Economic Times (ET) HR World Future Skills Awards 2023 for 'Best use of AI/AR/VR in Learning and Upskilling' and 'Best Advance in Creating an Extended Enterprise Learning Programme'. Director (HR), NTPC, Dillip Kumar Patel received the awards on behalf of NTPC at a programme held in Gurugram.
These awards bear testimony to NTPC's focus on the adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as virtual reality (VR) in Learning and Development (L&D). They reflect NTPC's commitment to develop the competency level of its employees as well as outsourced workers through L&D initiatives such as iGuru which includes training based on Virtual Reality (VR). In addition, NTPC has also introduced several other innovative training initiatives such as GPiLearn, FutureSkills courses and Samarth modules.

President of India Present the 'Bhoomi Samman' 2023

Golden Peacock' Environment Management Award 2023 to Adani Transmission Limited
Adani Transmission Limited (ATL) won the 'Golden Peacock Environment Management Award 2023' in the Power Transmission Sector from Institute of Directors.
In 2023, an assessment group comprising environment, health and safety, energy and climate change experts assessed over 520 applications.
These applications were approved by Justice M. N. The review was done by an eminent jury committee headed by Venkatachaliah.
The award is given for reducing its ecological footprint through programs such as zero waste in landfills, single-use plastic free, water-positive operations, promoting renewable energy integration and implementation of best-in-class environmental management strategies.
Steel Authority of India (SAIL) was awarded with the Golden Peacock Environment Management Award in 2021 in the steel sector by the Institute of Directors. SAIL was the winner of this award for three consecutive years.
Adani Tranmission Limitied (ATL) was declared winner by its B2C arms, i.e. Adani Electric Mumbai Limited for its unique strategic initiative of increasing renewable energy in bulk power purchase for distribution in Mumbai region.
