India, Israel Agree to form Task Force to Identify New Areas of Defence Cooperation
The Joint Working Group (JWG) of India and Israel has agreed to form a task force to formulate a comprehensive 10-year roadmap to identify new areas of defence cooperation. The 15th meeting of the JWG took place in Tel Aviv, Israel. It was co-chaired by Indian Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar and Director General of Israel's Defence Ministry Amir Eshel, according to a statement issued by the ministry.
It was also decided at the meeting that a sub-working group (SWG) on defence industry cooperation would be formed, and a term of reference was signed by the two countries in this regard.

DRDO, Air Force Successfully Test India's First Indigenously Developed Long-range Bomb
An Indian Air Force (IAF) team and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight-tested the country's first indigenously developed long-range bomb (LRB) from a fighter jet over Balasore in Odisha.
The bomb is part of the class of weapons with a range of 50 to 150 km. The government did not share details about the weapons, but mentioned that the LRB was tested from an aerial platform.
The bomb has been designed and developed by DRDO's Research Centre Imarat (RCI) laboratory in Hyderabad, in coordination with other DRDO laboratories.
Indian Navy's 7th P1135.6 Class Frigate Launched in Russia
The seventh frigate of P1135.6 class for the Indian Navy was launched at Yantar shipyard in Kaliningrad, Russia in the presence of Indian Ambassador to Russia D. Bala Venkatesh Varma.
During the launching ceremony, the ship was formally named as "Tushil", which means protector shield in Sanskrit.

Indian Coast Guard's New Vessel 'Sarthak'
Director General Indian Coast Guard (ICG) K. Natarajan and senior government officials commissioned the indigenously built Coast Guard Ship 'Sarthak' at a ceremony held in Goa.
The 105-metre long 'Sarthak' which weighs 2450 tons is fourth in the series of five offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) being built by Goa Shipyard Limited for the ICG.
ICGS Sarthak will be based at Porbandar, Gujarat and will operate on India's Western Seaboard under the Operational and Administrative Control of the Commander, Coast Guard Region (Northwest).
Sarthak is commanded by Deputy Inspector General MM Syed and has a complement of 11 officers and 110 men.

India Successfully Test-fires Agni-5 Missile Having Range of 5,000 km
In a major boost to its military might, India successfully test-fired surface-to-surface ballistic missile Agni-5 that can strike targets at ranges up to 5,000 km with a very high degree of accuracy.
The test-firing was carried from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha.
The successful test of Agni-5 is in line with India's stated policy to have credible minimum deterrence that underpins the commitment to 'No First Use'.
The successful test-firing of the missile came in the midst of a lingering border standoff with China in eastern Ladakh.

Turkey and South Korea Sign Deal for Turkish Altay Tank
Turkey and South Korea have signed a letter of intent by which two Korean companies will supply engines and transmission mechanisms for the Altay, Turkey's indigenous tank in the making.
The deal came at a meeting of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Korean Minister in charge of the country's Defense Acquisition Program Administration, Kang Eun-ho.
Turkish armored vehicles manufacturer BMC, the maker of the Altay, has been negotiating strategic agreements with two South Korean companies for joint work on a power pack for the new tank.
Under the deals, South Korean manufacturers Doosan and S&T Dynamics will supply the engine and transmission mechanism for the Altay.
