Navy Chief Unveils First Indigenously Manufactured Drishti 10 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
Indian Navy chief Admiral R. Hari Kumar unveiled the first indigenously manufactured Drishti 10 Starliner Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in Hyderabad.
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle has been manufactured by Adani Defence and Aerospace.
Admiral R. Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff, lauded Adani Group's efforts in aligning its roadmap to the Navy's requirements and establishing an ecosystem of partners and capabilities to enable 'Atmanirbharta' in defence and security.
DRDO Launches 'Ugram', Indigenous Assault Rifle for Armed Forces
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) launched an indigenous assault rifle named 'Ugram', to meet the operational requirements of armed forces, paramilitary, and state police entities.
The rifle, with a calibre of 7.62 x 51 mm, has been designed, developed, and manufactured in collaboration with a private industry partner.
The first operational prototype of the rifle was unveiled at the DRDO's Armament and Combat Engineering Systems in Pune. It has an effective range of 500 metres and weighs less than four kilograms.

Indian Navy's P8I Aircraft Joins Exercise Sea Dragon-24 in Guam
Indian Navy's P8I aircraft landed at Guam, a US island territory in Western Pacific, to participate in Exercise Sea Dragon - 24. The exercise aims to enhance synergy and interoperability amongst participating navies from US, Australia, South Korea and Japan through professional interactions on ground and in air. Exercise Sea Dragon – 24 will conclude on January 24.

Four more NCC Units to be Raised in J&K, Ladakh
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh approved a proposal to raise four more units of the National Cadet Corps in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The approval includes "one mixed (boys and girls) army battalion each" at Udhampur and Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir, and at Kargil in Ladakh, and one air squadron at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir, the defence ministry said.
Indian Air Force C-130 J aircraft Carries Out Night Landing at Kargil Airstrip
The Indian Air Force successfully conducted a night landing of the C130-J transport aircraft at the Kargil airstrip. This marked the first time a night landing was carried out at the airstrip, situated near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Ladakh region.
The C-130J Super Hercules aircraft, manufactured by US aircraft maker Lockheed Martin, is an advanced tactical airlifter utilised by the Indian Air Force (IAF) for special operations and humanitarian crises. The night landing of the C130J is significant for the Air Force in many ways.

Amit Shah Inaugurates 58th DGsP/IGsP Conference in Jaipur Concludes
The 58th DGsP/IGsP Conference in Jaipur, Rajasthan concluded. It was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The three day Conference was held in hybrid mode DGsP/IGsP and Chiefs of Central Police Organisations from Jaipur attended and over 500 Police officers of various ranks participating through video conferencing from across the country. The Union Home Minister distributed Police Medals for Meritorious Service to IB officers and awarded trophies for the three best Police Stations.
He observed that this Conference over the years has emerged as a 'Think Tank', facilitating decision making and formulation of new security strategies. He emphasized on uniformity of structures, size and skill of counter terror mechanisms across the country.

Rashmi Shukla Becomes Maharashtra's First Woman Director General of Police
In a landmark decision, the Maharashtra government appointed Rashmi Shukla, a distinguished 1988 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, as the Director General of Police (DGP). This appointment is groundbreaking as Ms. Shukla becomes the first woman to hold this prestigious position in the state.
Ms. Shukla's journey to the top police post has been both impressive and tumultuous. She takes over the reins from Rajnish Seth, her batchmate from the 1988 IPS cadre, who recently retired and moved on to become the chairman of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC).
