Researchers from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) introduced a groundbreaking language called STRONG (STring Representation of Nanopore Geometry), which encodes the shape and structure of nanopores. This new tool is set to revolutionise nanopore research by enabling machine learning (ML) models to predict their properties accurately.
STRONG assigns distinct letters to various atomic configurations found at the edge of nanopores. This representation provides a detailed way to understand and describe nanopore geometries, enabling better prediction of their properties, such as energy levels and gas transport barriers.
