Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Thaawar Chand Gehlot launched Senior Care Ageing Growth Engine or SAGE project.
SAGE project was launched to select, support and create "one-stop access" of elderly care products and services provided by credible start-ups.
Project was formulated following the recommendations of empowered expert committee report on start-ups for elderly.
Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is the facilitator to enable elderly to access products through these identified and verified start-ups.
This scheme was required in the light of increasing share of elders. As per a survey, share of elders with respect to total population in percentage term is expected to increase from 7.5 per cent in 2001 to about 12.5 per cent by 2026.

Govt. Approves Model Tenancy Act
The Union Cabinet approved the Model Tenancy Act under which separate rent authorities, courts and tribunals will be set up in districts to protect the interest of both the owner and tenant.
For residential premises, tenants will have to submit security deposit of maximum two months' rent, while in case of commercial property, six months' rent will have to be deposited.
States and union territories can adopt the Model Tenancy Act by enacting fresh legislation or they can amend their existing rental laws suitably.
The Act mandates for written agreement for all new tenancies, which will have to be submitted to concerned district 'Rent Authority'.

Govt. Launches YUVA Scheme to Train Young Authors
The Ministry of Education launched YUVA - Prime Minister's Scheme For Mentoring Young Authors, an author mentorship programme to train young and budding authors (below 30 years of age) to promote reading, writing and book culture in the country, and project India and Indian writings globally, an official release said.
The launch of YUVA (Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors) is in tune with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to encourage young writers to write about India's freedom struggle, the release added.

The government launched YUVA — Prime Minister's Scheme For Mentoring Young Authors, an author mentorship programme to train 75 selected young and budding authors (below 30 years of age) with an aim to promote reading and writing.
The launch of YUVA (Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors) is in tune with PM's vision to encourage young authors to write about India's freedom struggle, the Education Ministry said.
In the January-31 edition of his 'Mann ki Baat', the PM had called upon youngsters to write about freedom fighters and their saga of valour as a way to celebrate 75 years of Independence.

Students to Benefit from Financial Help by Government under Midday Meal Scheme
To help safeguard the nutritional levels of children, the central government has decided to provide financial help to 11.8 crore students under the Midday Meal scheme through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of the cooking cost for the meals.
Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' has approved the proposal for the same.
With schools closed for montsh due to Covid-19, this move will give a fillip to the Midday Meal programme.
This is in addition to the Government of India's announcement of distribution of free-of-cost food grains at Rs 5/kg per person per month to nearly 80 crore beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY).
