US President Donald Trump Presents Legion of Merit to PM Narendra Modi

US President Donald Trump has presented the prestigious Legion of Merit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership in elevating the strategic partnership of the two countries and emergence of India as a global power.
India's Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, accepted the award on behalf of the Prime Minister from the US National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien at the White House.
The Chief Commander of the Legion of Merit is given only to the Head of State or Government.
Trump also presented the Legion of Merit to Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and the former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The awards were received by their respective ambassadors in Washington DC.

Neha Shah Creates Guinness World Record

Neha Singh, a student of Banaras Hind University, has created the Guinness World Record by creating the world's largest painting using natural colours.
The painting measures 62.72 square metres.
Neha has painted a 'moksh ka vriksh' (tree of salvation), for which her name has been included in the Guinness World Records. Neha is a student of Vedic Science at Banaras Hindu University.

KIIT Bags 13th QCI-DL Shah Quality Silver Award

KIIT a deemed to be university, was conferred the 13th Quality Council of India (QCI) - DL Shah Quality Silver Award.
The institute was accorded the recognition at the inaugural ceremony of the 3rd Virtual Quality Conclave.
KIIT pro vice-chancellor Professor Sasmita Samanta received the award given for successful implementation of System Analysis Program Development.
Apart from KIIT, CMC Vellore, KG Hospital and Post Graduate Medical Institute, Coimbatore and Chitkara University, Punjab, featured in this list of awardees across different categories.
KIIT is incidentally the first university in the country to implement SAP in all schools and processes at a time in 2013.

Shankar Mahadevan and Raghavendra Rathore Winners of UK's Icon Awards

Musician Shankar Mahadevan and fashion designer Raghavendra Rathore have been named among 15 winners of the annual 21st Century Icon Awards, unveiled virtually from London.
The awards, devised as a celebration of dynamic entrepreneurs and successful individuals chosen from hundreds of nominations from around the world, are organised by Squared Watermelon Limited in partnership with ELITE, the London Stock Exchange Group's international business support and capital raising programme, with other supporters named as Bentley, Stefano Ricci, KPMG and Coca-Cola.
Among some of the other 2020 winners included the Dedicated Stalwart Award for Mohit Burman, Vice-Chairman of Dabur India Ltd, and Competitive Sports Awards for Jamaican cricketer Chris Gayle and Argentinian polo player Adolfo Cambiaso.

Ratan Tata to be Honoured with ''Global Visionary of Sustainable Business and Peace'' Award

Veteran industrialist Ratan Tata will be honoured by the Indo-Israel Chambers of Commerce for promoting innovation that supports sustainability and peace in the region, including with the Palestinians.
The chairman emeritus of the Tata Group will be honoured with ''Global Visionary of Sustainable Business and Peace'' award during the launch of the Federation of Indo-Israel Chamber of Commerce''s international chapter in Dubai on December 21.
The virtual ceremony will be attended by senior officials from Israel, India and UAE.
The industrialist and philanthropist is the recipient of two of India''s highest civilian awards - Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan.

UNEP's 2020 Young Champions of the Earth Award

The United Nations Environment Programme named seven dynamic environmentalists as its Young Champions of the Earth.
The following seven people won the UNEP 2020 Young Championships of the Earth Award: Nzambi Matee of Kenya, Xiaoyuan Ren of China, Vidyut Mohan of India, Lefteris Arapakis of Greece, Niria Alicia Garcia of USA, Fatehmah Alzelzela of Kuwait and Max Hidalgo Quinto of Peru.
The Young Champions of the Earth prize is awarded every year to seven entrepreneurs under the age of thirty. These entrepreneurs should have bold ideas for sustainable environmental change. The winners of the award receive mentoring, seed funding, communications support to amplify their efforts.
The Young Champions award aims to inspire more young people to get closer to the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030), United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26, that is to be held in Glasgow in November 2021) and the United Nations Biodiversity Conference (to be held in Kunming in May 2021).
