In a landmark achievement for India's defence innovation ecosystem, Bengaluru-based start-up Pravaig Dynamics was honoured with the Prime Minister's Award for Innovation in Defence Excellence (iDEX) for its groundbreaking VEER Electric Tactical All-Terrain 4 Vehicle (E-TATV). This recognition, conferred by the Defence Innovation Organisation (D10) and the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) of India, underscores Pravaig's pivotal role in advancing India's strategic autonomy by developing cutting-edge, indigenous defence technologies.
The award marks a significant step toward reducing India's reliance on foreign entities—a vulnerability starkly highlighted by conflicts like Ukraine's, and one that India has grappled with in its own defence procurement history.

India Signs $248 Million Deal with Russia for Advanced Battle Tank Engines
India entered into a $248 million agreement with Russia's Rosoboronexport to procure advanced 1,000 horsepower (HP) engines for its fleet of T-72 battle tanks. This upgrade aims to enhance the battlefield mobility and offensive capability of the Indian Army. Additionally, the deal includes the transfer of technology to Indian state-owned Armoured Vehicles Nigam Ltd (AVNL) for licensed production of these engines, strengthening India's defence manufacturing sector.
This aligns with India's Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives to boost domestic defence production.

KHANJAR-XII: India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Military Exercise
In March 2025, the 12th edition of the India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise KHANJAR-XII began in Kyrgyzstan, running for 14 days until March 23, 2025, focusing on counterterrorism and special operations in high-altitude terrain.
The joint exercise aims to enhance cooperation by exchanging experiences and best practices in Counter-Terrorism and Special Forces Operations in urban and mountainous environments.
Both nations will train in advanced Special Forces skills, including sniping, complex building intervention, and mountain warfare techniques, to improve combat effectiveness.
Since its launch in 2011, KHANJAR has evolved into an annual military engagement, alternating between India and Kyrgyzstan to deepen strategic relations.
The last edition of the exercise was conducted in India in January 2024, continuing the long-standing military cooperation between the two nations.
Indian Naval Ship Imphal Participates in Mauritius National Day Celebrations 2025
Indian Naval Ship Imphal makes her maiden port call at Port Louis, the capital city of Mauritius. The ship participated in the 57th Mauritius National Day celebrations on 12 Mar 25. The visit of INS Imphal is in keeping with the tradition of Indian warships and aircraft participating in Mauritius National Day celebrations. The ship will field a marching contingent, naval band and helicopter for the flypast at the National Day Parade at Champs de Mars. Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, will be the Chief Guest at the celebrations.
During her stay at Port Louis from 10 - 14 March, the ship is planned to participate in several training and cultural exchanges, including cross-training visits, friendly sports fixtures and community outreach activities. These activities aim to strengthen bilateral ties and maritime security cooperation between the two countries. A joint Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) surveillance and exercise with MCGS ships is also planned.

The visit featured coordinated tactical maneuvers, professional exchanges, and joint exercises with the Royal Thai Navy (RTN), reinforcing the maritime partnership between India and Thailand.

Two-Day Armed Forces Display - 'Shaurya Vedanam Utsava' in Motihari
The first-ever Shaurya Vedanam Utsav, a two-day display of military prowess, was held in Motihari, Bihar. Organised by the Ministry of Defence, the event aimed to bring the Armed Forces closer to the public while inspiring the youth to consider a career in national service.
The Shaurya Vedanam Utsav was inaugurated by Arif Mohammed Khan, Governor of Bihar.
The event was attended by Radha Mohan Singh, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence, Lt. Gen Anindya Sengupta, Commander of the Central Command of the Indian Army, and senior officials from the Armed Forces and government.
The Indian Army, Navy, and the Air Force displayed their modern weapons to the public.
