Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched an 'Integrated Unmanned Road Map for Indian Navy' at the second edition of the Naval Commanders.
This will outline all the unmanned aerial and underwater platforms and efforts of the Navy as part of its force modernisation.
"The geographical location of our country is something that makes it unique in many ways. Surrounded by the vast expanse of ocean from three sides, our country is very important from the point of view of strategic, trade and resources," Mr. Singh said at the conference.
Second Edition of Naval Commanders' Conference of 2021 Commenced in New Delhi
The second edition of the Naval Commanders' Conference of 2021 commenced in New Delhi. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the Naval Commanders during the inaugural session and interacted with them on matters relating to national security. The conference was attended by all Operational and Area Commanders of the Indian Navy to review major operational, materiel, logistics, Human Resource Development, training, and administrative activities.
Mr Singh said, the geographical location of India is unique in many ways and it is very important from the point of view of strategy, trade and resources. He stated that as a responsible maritime stakeholder India supports consensus-based principles and a peaceful, open, rule-based and stable world order and envision the Indian Ocean Region with the universal values of rule-based freedom of navigation and free trade in which the interests of all participating countries are protected.

Indian Army Wins Gold Medal in the Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2021
Indian Army is known for its leadership, self-discipline, courage, physical endurance, and determination. And in the latest Cambrian Patrol Exercise, a team from 4/5 Gorkha Rifles (Frontier Force) which represented the Indian Army was awarded a gold medal. The Cambrian Patrol Exercise was organized at Brecon, Wales, the UK.
The Ex Cambrian Patrol is sometimes referred to as the Olympics of Military Patrolling among several militaries across the globe. The competition is organized by the UK army and is considered as the ultimate test of human endurance.
The Exercise Cambrian Patrol is an international event in which militaries across the world take part. In Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2021, a total of 96 teams took part. The competition also included 17 international teams representing Special Forces and prestigious Regiments from around the world.

17th Edition of Indo-US Joint Military Exercise "Ex Yudh Abhyas 2021
The 17th edition of the Joint Military Training Exercise "Ex Yudh Abhyas 2021" between the Indian Army and the United States Army, kicked off on October 15 at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska in USA. The Indian contingent comprised of 350 personnel of an Infantry Battalion Group.
The exercise enhanced understanding, cooperation and interoperability between the two Armies. The previous version of the exercise was held at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Bikaner, Rajasthan in February 2021.
The 7 New Companies Inaugurated by PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation seven new defence public sector undertakings (DPSUs), carved out of the erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), which was dissolved on October 1, in line with a decision taken by the Union cabinet in June this year. The launch of these companies took place on a day when the country is celebrating the festival of Dussehra.
The seven new companies are: Advanced Weapons and Equipment India, Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited, Gliders India Limited, India Optel Limited, Munitions India Limited, Troop Comforts Limited and Yantra India Limited.

Japan Launches Second Taigei-class Submarine, 'Hakugei'
Japan launched the second of a new class of diesel-electric submarines exactly one year to the day that the lead boat of the lithium-ion powered series took to the water.
The new submarine, named the 'Hakugei', or 'White Whale', was launched at Kawasaki Heavy Industries shipyard in the city of Kobe. The submarine will now undergo final construction and sea trials before commissioning into the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force or JMSDF, which is planned for March 2023.

Greece, U.S. Renew Defence Deal to Boost Cooperation
The United States and Greece signed an agreement renewing their long-standing defence cooperation, a move Secretary of State Antony Blinken said would allow the NATO allies to advance security in the Eastern Mediterranean region and beyond.
Known as the U.S.-Greece Mutual Defense Cooperation Agreement, the MDCA has allowed U.S. forces to train and operate within Greek territory since 1990.
The two countries, which have strong political and economic ties, renewed their agreement for five years with an understanding that from then onward, it would remain in place indefinitely unless one of the parties chooses to withdraw.
China, Russia Launch Joint Naval Drills in Russian Far East
China and Russia are holding joint naval drills off the Russian Far East in the latest sign of their growing political and military alignment.
The exercises Joint Sea 2021 kicked off with a ceremony in Russia's Peter the Great Gulf.
As per reports, the drills encompassed communications, anti-mine, anti-air and anti-submarine operations, joint maneuvering and firing on seaborne targets.
While such exercises have been held before, the reports said that this is the first time China has sent anti-submarine warfare planes and destroyers of more than 10,000 tons in displacement for exercises abroad.
