The Desert Corps of the Indian Army organised the "Suraksha Manthan 2022", on aspects of border and coastal security at Jodhpur (Rajasthan). The manthan was jointly presided over by Pankaj Kumar Singh, IPS, Director General Border Security Force (BSF), Director General V.S. Pathania, Indian Coast Guard and Lieutenant General Rakesh Kapoor, General Officer Commanding Desert Corps and attended by serving officers of the Army, BSF and Coast Guard.
The finer points of interoperability, operational cohesion, and logistics issues were worked out during the negotiations to improve overall security along the international border and coastal sectors.
During the meet, a concrete road plan for achieving the goal of SAMANJASIYA to establish an environment that is conducive to security and capabilities development was agreed upon.

India's Tejas light combat aircraft emerged as the top choice for Malaysia as the Southeast Asian nation looks at replacing its ageing fleet of fighter jets and the two sides are holding negotiations to firm up the procurement.
Malaysia narrowed down on the Indian aircraft notwithstanding the stiff competition from China's JF-17 jet, South Korea's FA-50 and Russia's Mig-35 as well as Yak-130.
As part of the package, India offered to set up an MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) facility in Malaysia for its Russian-origin Su-30 fighter fleet as it is facing difficulties in procuring spares for the aircraft from Russia in view of western sanctions against Moscow.
DRDO Conducts Successful Maiden Flight of Autonomous Flying Wing Technology Demonstrator
The maiden flight of a new Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), an autonomous Flying Wing Technology Demonstrator, took off from the Aeronautical Test Range, Chitradurga, Karnataka. The flight which was successful was carried out by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
Terming it as a significant step towards self-reliance in strategic defence technologies, an official statement issued by DRDO said that the flight marked a major milestone in terms of proving critical technologies which are used towards the development of future unmanned aircraft.
It demonstrated a perfect flight, while operating in a fully autonomous mode. The flight test also included take-off, way point navigation and smooth touchdown.
It has been designed and developed by Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru, one of the research laboratories of DRDO.

Fourth Synergy Conference between Indian Army and DAD
The fourth synergy conference between the Indian Army and Defence Accounts Department (DAD) was held in New Delhi.
The primary agenda of the conference included deliberations on the AGNIPATH scheme and the schedule for timely implementation of a system for pay and allowances for Agniveers. Other agenda items included improving the functioning of Pay and Account Offices (PAOs) for better service delivery to Junior Commissioned Officers/Other Ranks of the Indian Army. Concrete action plans for the future were devised in consultation with senior officers on both sides.

PADMA, the Centralised Pay System for Indian Coast Guard
Pay Roll Automation for Disbursement of Monthly Allowances (PADMA), an automated Pay & Allowances module for the Indian Coast Guard was launched by Rajnish Kumar, Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA), Ministry of Defence. The CGDA emphasized that the Government campaigned for Digital India to ensure dedicated services and reduce manual intervention at every level & to promote E-Governance in a big way.
The launch of PADMA will strengthen the Digital India concept. Also, it is an 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative as the entire module was designed and developed by Indian entrepreneurs assisted by domain experts.
PADMA is an automated platform leveraging latest technology which will provide seamless and timely disbursal of Pay & Allowances to around 15,000 Indian Coast Guard personnel.

Armies of India and Australia held the ninth Army to Army Staff Talks in Dehradun which were focused on joint military exercises, training cooperation and preparing a roadmap for enhanced defence cooperation.
Talks were held at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) and both sides reviewed the road map for activities promoting defence cooperation like training courses between both the Armies, cadet exchange programmes between pre-commission training academies, bilateral ex Austra hind, subject matter expert exchange in niche domains, functional and high level visits, interaction between think tanks, virtual interactions in field of medical and doctrinal exchanges.

India Successfully Tests High-speed Expendable Aerial Target Abhyas
India successfully tested the indigenously-designed Abhyas - a High-speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) - in Odisha. The trial was carried out by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Odisha's Chandipur.
The aircraft is programmed for a fully autonomous flight, meaning that it flies under the control of automatic systems and needs no intervention from a human pilot.
During the test flight, the aircraft was flown from a ground-based controller to examine its manoeuvrability and performance at low altitudes.

INS Satpura Arrives at Pearl Harbour in Hawaii to Participate in RIMPAC-22
INS Satpura reached Pearl Harbour in Hawaii Islands to participate in RIMPAC-22. INS Satpura and one P8I maritime patrol aircraft from the Indian Navy are participating in one of the largest multilateral Naval Exercises, the US Navy led biennial Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise 2022. The exercise spanning over six weeks of intense operations and training is aimed at enhancing interoperability and to build trust among Navies of friendly foreign countries. 27 countries are participating in the current edition of the multi-dimensional exercise.

India Successfully Tests Indigenously Developed Anti-Tank Guided Missile
DRDO and the Indian Army successfully tested indigenously-developed anti-tank guided missile at KK range in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) was successfully test fired from Arjun battle tank.
In the test, the ATGM hit the bull's eye with textbook precision and successfully defeated the target at minimum ranges. Telemetry systems recorded the satisfactory flight performance of the missile, it mentioned. Engaging the targets at lower ranges is a challenge due to the dimensional constraints of tank-launched ATGMs, which has been successfully accomplished by the ATGM for Arjun tank.
