Air Marshal Rajesh Kumar Anand Takes over as Air Officer-in-Charge Administration
Air Marshal Rajesh Kumar Anand, recipient of Vishisht Seva Medal, took over as Air Officer-in-Charge Administration (AOA). An alumnus of National Defence Academy, the Air Marshal was commissioned in Administrative Branch of the Indian Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller on Jun 13, 1987. He has undergone the Higher Air Command Course from College of Air Warfare and Area Control Course from the Singapore Aviation Academy.
In a career spanning over 36 years, the Air Marshal has held various field and staff appointments. Prior to his present appointment, he was Director General (Administration) at Air Headquarters, New Delhi.

Missile Specialist P. Upadhyay Takes over as Director General of Naval Armament
P. Upadhyay, took over as Director General of Naval Armament (DGONA) at IHQ MoD (Navy) from KSC lyer, who superannuated on 31 May 31, 2023. P. Upadhyay, belongs to 1987 batch of Indian Naval Armament Service. He joined Naval Armament Organization of Indian Navy on Jul 12, 1989. An Electrical Engineering Graduate from SGSITS Indore, he earned his Post Graduate degrees from Devi Ahilya University in Electrical Engineering with specialization in 'Digital Techniques and Instrumentation' in 1988 and in Mechanical Engineering from University of Pune with specialisation in 'Guided Missiles', in 1995. In a span of 34 years, he has held various important assignments at NAD (Visakhapatnam), NAD (Karanja), NAD (Trombay), NAD (Alwaye) and IHQ, MoD (N). He is an alumnus of Naval Defence College of NDC-53.
The officer specialises in Missile and Torpedo Maintenance besides having vast knowledge on disposal of ammunition.

Rajiv Singh is New Manipur DGP
Senior IPS officer Rajiv Singh was appointed the new Director General of Police of Manipur. Singh replaced P. Doungel.
Singh, who was working as an inspector general with the CRPF, was sent to Manipur as per an order of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Singh, a 1993-batch IPS officer of the Tripura cadre, was sent to Manipur on inter-cadre deputation for three years.
Third India, Vietnam Maritime Security Dialogue in New Delhi
The 3rd India-Vietnam Maritime Security Dialogue was held in New Delhi. Senior officials from both sides and Services concerned with maritime affairs participated in the Dialogue. The two sides discussed ways to sustain a secure maritime environment conducive for inclusive growth. They also reviewed maritime cooperation initiatives and avenues of reinforcing international and regional mechanisms for comprehensive maritime security.
The second India-Vietnam Maritime Security Dialogue was to be held in virtual format in April 2021 after the first round was held in Hanoi in March 2019.

India Carries Out Successful Training Launch of Agni-1 Ballistic Missile
A successful training launch of a medium-range ballistic missile, Agni-1, was carried out by the Strategic Forces Command from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha.
The missile is a proven system, capable of striking targets with a very high degree of precision. The user training launch successfully validated all operational and technical parameters of the missile.
In December 2022, India had successfully test-fired nuclear-capable ballistic missile Agni-V that can strike targets at ranges up to 5,000 km.
The Agni 1 to 4 missiles have ranges from 700 km to 3,500 km and they have already been deployed.

Ummalaneni to Head DRDO Missiles and Strategic Systems
Distinguished scientist and Director, RCI, Ummalaneni Raja Babu was appointed the Director General (missiles & strategic systems), DRDO, Hyderabad.
He replaced B.H.V.S. Narayana Murthy following the latter's superannuation.
Babu, a graduate in mechanical engineering from Andhra University, obtained his Master's from IIT Kharagpur and MBA from JNTU.
He started his career with the Indian Air Force in 1988 and joined DRDO in 1995. In his 35-year aerospace career, he has worked on aircraft, helicopters and was a key member in the development of many missile systems.
It was under his leadership that 'Mission Shakti', India's first anti-satellite missile test (A-SAT) was demonstrated successfully.
Babu is a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the 'Path-breaking research & outstanding technology development' award, Agni award, DRDO Scientist of the Year and Vigyan Pratibha Samman awards.
