Gujarat CM Unveils Crest of Indian Navy Warship 'Surat'
The crest of Indian Navy's latest guided missile destroyer 'Surat' was unveiled by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in the presence of the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R. Hari Kumar and other senior officers at a ceremony held in Surat.
As per reports, this is the first warship named after the city of Gujarat, and in a first, the unveiling of the crest of a warship was held in the very city after which it was named.
The crest of the under-construction warship depicts the famous Hazira lighthouse that was built in 1836 at the southern entrance of Khambhat and an Asiatic lion symbolising majesty and strength.

Minuteman III missile test-launched by US Air Force
The S. Air Force had blown up a Minuteman III missile over the Pacific Ocean after an anomaly was detected following its launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
The nuclear-capable Minuteman III, made by Boeing, is key to the U.S. military's strategic arsenal. The missile has a range of 6,000-plus miles (9,660-plus km) and can travel at a speed of about 15,000 miles per hour (24,000 kph).
About 400 of the missiles are located at Air Force bases in Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota.

Sweden's Saab Secures India's First 100% FDI in Defense Project
India has recently granted approval for Sweden's Saab to establish a new manufacturing facility in the country, marking a significant milestone as the first foreign company to receive 100% Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in India's defense projects.
While India previously permitted up to 74% FDI in the defense sector under the automatic route, clearances beyond that threshold were subject to individual assessment.
The government relaxed these regulations in 2015 to encourage foreign investments, yet until now, no foreign firm had received permission for 100% FDI in defense.

US and India to conduct 2 plus 2 ministerial dialogue
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin would be traveling to India for the 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue with their Indian counterparts in New Delhi.
The dialogue will be held with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi this month.
The dialogue came to existence from an agreement between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump.
It is being conducted every year since 2018 to discuss bilateral security and geo-strategic issues.
