Lucknow Super Giants Appoints former chairman of selectors MSK Prasad as strategic consultant
IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants announced the appointment of former India wicketkeeper MSK Prasad as their strategic consultant. The former BCCI Chairman of the Selection Committee will be instrumental in providing essential guidance across a spectrum of critical domains.
MSK Prasad will help the franchise as Head of Talent Search and talent development. Lucknow Super Giants' latest appointment came after the newbie franchise roped in Justin Langer as their head coach, replacing Andy Flower who went on to join Royal Challengers Bangalore in the lead-up to IPL 2024.
MSK Prasad served as India men's cricket team's chief selector and he was at the helm when India scripted the historic Test series wins in Australia in 2018-19 and 2020-21.
TN Govt. Launches India's First-ever Night Street Racing Circuit in Chennai
The Tamil Nadu government and Racing Promotions Private Limited (RRPL) launched a new street circuit in Chennai. The 3.5 km track will be located around the Island Grounds and will be the first-ever street circuit in India and South Asia to host a night race.
The track will have elevation changes and 19 corners, including multiple chicanes. It will also offer stunning views of the Marina Beach Road and the Bay of Bengal.
The event is scheduled to be held on December 9-10 and will feature the F4 Indian Championship and the Indian Racing League. The SDAT will be investing Rs. 42 crore to host the event.
The launch of the new street circuit is a major boost for motorsport in India. It will help to raise the profile of the sport and attract more fans and sponsors. It is also expected to boost tourism in Chennai.

Priya Malik Wins Gold Medal at 2023 U20 World Wrestling Championships in Jordan
Indian grappler Priya Malik won Gold medal at the 2023 U20 World Wrestling Championships in Jordan. Priya became just the second woman wrestler from India to be crowned U20 world championship. Antim Panghal is the first woman from India to win a junior world title in wrestling at last year's (2022) edition. Priya Mallik beat Laura Celine Kuehn of Germany by 5-0 in the women's 76kg freestyle wrestling final. In a true stamp of authority, Priya went the whole tournament without conceding a single point in any of her matches. Priya has now won both the U17 2021, and 2022 and U20 world titles in her short but promising career.

Indian Hockey Team Jumps to No 3 Place in FIH Rankings
India rose to third place in FIH rankings following their Asian Champions Trophy (ACT).
India (2771.35 points) jumped one place to third and went past England (2763.50 points) behind top-ranked Netherlands (3095.90 points) and Belgium (2917.87 points).
This was the second time India rose to No 3 in FIH rankings. India had achieved a similar ranking in 2021 after securing a bronze in the Tokyo Olympics, which was their first medal at the Games in 41 years.
The Harmanpreet Singh-led side defeated Malaysia 4-3 to lift the ACT title. They made an incredible comeback from 1-3 down.
