Located in Thiruvananthapuram, KTCT Higher Secondary School, under the aegis of Kaduvayil Thangal Charitable Trust, became the first educational institution in Kerala to employ an AI-powered teacher. This initiative stems from the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) project by NITI Aayog, launched in 2021 to enhance extracurricular activities in schools across India.
Iris is designed to be more than just a robotic presence in the classroom; it is a generative AI entity capable of conducting interactive learning sessions. With the ability to communicate in three languages, Iris can tackle a wide array of questions, making it a versatile and invaluable educational tool.

India Introduces Chakshu: Report Fraud Calls & Texts Platform
In a significant stride towards cyber-security measures and enhancing citizen empowerment, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) unveiled the Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP) alongside the 'Chakshu' facility on the Sanchar Saathi portal. This initiative aims to foster collaboration among stakeholders to combat the misuse of telecom resources in cyber-crime and financial frauds.
'Chakshu' is a citizen-centric facility introduced on the Sanchar Saathi portal by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). It aims to empower individuals to report suspected fraud communications received via various channels, including calls, SMS, or WhatsApp.
Citizens can utilise 'Chakshu' to report various types of fraudulent activities, such as KYC-related frauds, impersonation as government officials or relatives for financial gain, sextortion, and other forms of communication aimed at defrauding individuals.

Amit Shah Launches Umbrella Body for Urban Co-op Banks
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated the National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation Limited (NUCFDC), an umbrella organisation for urban cooperative banks.
Shah said that after 20 years of struggle, NUCFDC has been established, which was a necessity of time and marks a new beginning for self-regulation. The organisation, he said, will boost development of urban cooperative banks.
The minister suggested the Board of the newly launched NUCFDC to set up one urban cooperative bank in each unrepresented town/city in a time-bound program.
NUCFDC has received RBI's approval to function as a non-banking finance company and a self-regulatory organisation for the urban cooperative banking sector.
The main objective of NUCFDC should be to help urban cooperative banks adhere to the Banking Regulations Act and bring professionalism in their work.
SpaceX, NASA Successfully Launch Manned Crew-8 Mission to International Space Station
A SpaceX rocket lifted off from Florida carrying a crew of three US astronauts and a Russian cosmonaut on their way to the International Space Station (ISS) to begin a six-month science mission in Earth orbit.
Designated Crew 8, the mission marks the eighth long-duration ISS team that NASA has flown aboard a SpaceX launch vehicle since the private rocket venture founded in 2002 by billionaire Elon Musk and headquartered near Los Angeles began sending U.S. astronauts to orbit in May 2020.
