GRIHA Summit 2025 Champions Climate-Resilient Innovation and Action
The GRIHA Summit 2025, themed 'Innovate to Act for a Climate Resilient World', is being held at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, from November 3 to 4, 2025. Organised by GRIHA Council and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), the annual summit serves as a premier national platform to translate climate ambition into tangible action across India's built environment.
The two-day summit is hosting 50+ eminent speakers, 8+ technical sessions, and 3 specialised exhibit pavilions, uniting architects, policymakers, engineers, urban planners, researchers, investors, and academia to accelerate India's low-carbon and climate-resilient transformation.

CAQM Bans Entry of Non-Delhi Registered Non-BS VI Commercial Goods Vehicles in NCR
Commission for Air Quality Management, CAQM has imposed a ban on the entry of non-Delhi-registered commercial goods vehicles that are not BS-VI compliant in Delhi NCR from November 2025. In a social media post today, CAQM informed that this ban applies to Light Goods, Medium Goods, and Heavy Goods Vehicles.
It further informed that all Delhi-registered commercial goods vehicles, including BS-VI compliant diesel or petrol vehicles, CNG or LNG commercial goods vehicles and Electric commercial goods vehicles, are permitted to enter Delhi. The Commission also said that as a transitional measure, all BS IV vehicles can also enter Delhi till 31st October of next year.
Climate Action Tracker Launched to Achieve Net Zero Across State
Minister for Finance, Environment and Climate Change Thangam Thennarasu launched the 'Climate Action Tracker for Tamil Nadu' and 'Climate Decarbonisation Pathways' for some districts, including Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Coimbatore, and Nilgiris.
A complete analysis of each of these districts has been carried out with the support of Vasudha Foundation and government agencies.

Cyclone Montha
Cyclone Montha made landfall on the Andhra coast near Narasapur. The strong gales uprooted the trees and electric poles in the coastal districts.
Montha name was given by Thailand, one of the 13 countries that contribute cyclone names for the North Indian Ocean region. In Thai, Montha means a fragrant flower or beautiful flower.

India Hosts 8th International Solar Alliance Assembly
India is hosting the 8th Session of the International Solar Alliance Assembly from October 27 to 30 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event brings the global community together to deepen cooperation and accelerate solar adoption for a brighter and sustainable future. Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi said that the member countries will review progress, address challenges, and align actions toward one vision – affordable solar energy for all.
The International Solar Alliance is an international organisation with 124 Member and Signatory countries. It works with governments to improve energy access and security worldwide and promote solar power as a sustainable transition to a carbon-neutral future.
The theme for the 8th International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly in 2025 is 'One Sun, One World, One Grid'.

Chennai Becomes First City to Launch Real-Time Flood Forecasting System
In a step toward strengthening urban disaster management, Chennai became the first Indian city to fully implement a Real-Time Flood Forecasting and Spatial Decision Support System (RTFF & SDSS). Operational since October 2025, this system significantly enhances Chennai's capability to predict, manage, and respond to urban floods, marking a milestone in climate resilience infrastructure. This initiative is particularly significant as Chennai is frequently affected by seasonal monsoon flooding, and accurate forecasting can save lives, minimize damage, and support smarter urban planning.
