Hyatt to Add 1,000 Rooms

Hyatt Hotels plans to add almost 1,000 rooms in India next year as it expects demand to grow significantly in the country.
The hotel now has about 7,000 rooms in the country with 28 hotels across 18 destinations. Next year, the luxury hotel chain expects to operate with more than 7,900 rooms in 32 hotels across 20 destinations.
In 2019, the firm will launch several properties, including Hyatt Regency Kochi Malayattoor, Grand Hyatt Gurgaon, Hyatt Centric Candolim Goa, Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort and Hyatt Regency Jaipur Mansarovar.

Hospitality Industry in India

According to Jean Michel Casse, chief operating officer (COO), India, South Asia, AccorHotels, the hospitality industry in India is coming out of the negative impact of a dip in financial markets and 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
The industry is witnessing over 60% occupancy which is good and the same trend is expected to rise in the coming years.

IHCL Inks Pact for Second Taj Hotel

Indian Hotels Company Ltd. (IHCL) has signed an agreement for construction of a second Taj hotel in Lucknow. The new hotel will come up in partnership with Luxus Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. IHCL would now have three hotels across two brands in the city (two Taj and one Ginger).

Cox & Kings Starts New Segment

Cox & Kings Ltd. has started a new business called 'Tour to Feast' to promote food-related travel across India's popular culinary destinations.
Each of these journeys is designed and accompanied by hand-picked experts who will take travellers through the evolution of the indigenous cuisines of each region.
According to Debolin Sen, head, Tour to Feast, the distinctly crafted tours give travellers a taste of a region's culture through its cuisine. To begin with, Tour to Feast will offer journeys across the most popular culinary destinations in India

Taj Group of Hotels Eyes Expansion

The Taj Group of Hotels has announced plans to expand their projects in Punjab in a big way.
According to a Punjab Government press note, the company has identified about 10 projects for expanding its business in the state. This was disclosed by Tata Sons' chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran during a meeting with Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
The Chief Minister asked Tata Sons to come out with a detailed project report for its proposed project on the rejuvenation of Chhoti Nadi and Badi Nadi river bodies in Patiala. He handed over to the company chairman a formal letter of mandate for the same.
