IIM Indore to Conduct Leadership Development Programme in Hindi

The Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM-I) decided to impart lessons of leadership development in Hindi as well, and the premier institute is starting a 10-day course on this topic for professionals from different walks of life from January 2024, an.
This is the first time that lectures will be delivered in Hindi in the leadership development programme classes of IIM-I.

UGC NET Syllabus to Be Revised, Says Chairman Jagadesh Kumar

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is set to revise the syllabus for the National Eligibility Test (NET) and will form an expert panel for the exercise, its chairman Jagadesh Kumar said.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the UGC-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and as an eligibility test for the appointment of assistant professors in the subjects of Humanities and Social Sciences, including Indian and some foreign languages, as well as in certain science subjects.
The UGC-NET is held twice every year, usually in June and December, in 83 subjects. The UGC last initiated the process to update the syllabi of UGC-NET subjects in 2017.

BHU Reports Increase in Enrolment of Foreign Students, Highest from Nepal

The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) registered a total of 312 international students from 30 countries for the academic session 2023-24. With this, the number of international students currently enrolled in the university reached an all-time high of 734 from 49 countries. This is also the first time that international enrolments have crossed the 300 mark.
Of the new 312 admissions in the 2023-24 session, as many as 172 students enrolled in undergraduate programmes, 112 for postgraduate programmes, while 16 students enrolled in PhD and 12 students took admission to the certificate or diploma courses.
The highest number of new entrants is from Nepal, with 155 students enrolling in various programmes, 85 students from Bangladesh, 11 from Sri Lanka and 10 from Myanmar.

MoE, IIT Kanpur's SATHEE Begin Outreach to Transform KVs, NVs, CBSE Schools Exam Preparation

The Ministry of Education and IIT Kanpur announced the successful outreach of SATHEE (Self-Assessment Test and Help for Entrance Exams), an online education platform to empower the millions of students preparing for competitive exams across the country.
This platform was unveiled by K. Sanjay Murthy, Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, in an event at Shastri Bhawan in presence of other invited dignitaries.
SATHEE offers a comprehensive suite of resources for NEET and JEE aspirants, including video lectures from faculties of IITs and IISc.
The outreach of SATHEE is an important step towards bridging the educational divide in India. The creation of the platform simplifies and enhances the learning process for competitive exams.

President Draupadi Murmu Inaugurates Eklavya Residential School in Mayurbhanj

President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated an Eklavya Model Residential School in the tribal-dominated Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, rekindling memories of her own childhood. The event took place at Kuliana, where the President, hailing from Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj, expressed delight at the school's infrastructure.
President Murmu, the first person from the tribal community to hold the nation's highest office, conveyed confidence that this initiative would provide local children with enhanced educational opportunities.
Expressing satisfaction, President Murmu highlighted the nationwide establishment of over 700 Eklavya Model Residential Schools. Abu Dhabi Added as Examination Centre for JEE Main 2024

The National Testing Agency (NTA) added Abu Dhabi as an examination city for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) – 2024.
Based on the request of the Ambassador of India, Abu Dhabi to support the student community of Abu Dhabi, it was decided to add Abu Dhabi as an examination city for the JEE (Main) – 2024. The cities of Dubai and Sharjah are already examination cities for the JEE (Main) – 2024.

Dharmendra Pradhan Launches PM SHRI Scheme to Develop Schools in Odisha

In a significant move, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme in Odisha. The initiative aims to enhance the development of thousands of schools across the country. Amazon India, AICTE Join for Skill Development of Women Tech Students

Amazon India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to extend its initiative, Amazon WoW (Women of the World). This programme is designed to empower and equip women students enrolled in engineering colleges across India with essential skills to thrive in the technology industry.
This programme is open to any women student who is currently pursuing a four-year BTech/BE or two-year MCA, M.Tech/ME programme or five year dual degree.
The programme offers workshops on coding, problem-solving, tech interviews, and data structures and algorithms, equipping female students in their application and selection processes. Through Amazon WoW, over 900 women have secured internships or full-time opportunities at Amazon.

Italy's Istituto Marangoni Explores India Campus under New UGC Rules

Ranked among the world's top 100 art and design institutes, Italy's Istituto Marangoni, boasting alumni such as Franco Moschino, founder of the Italian fashion brand Moschino, and designer Rahul Mishra, the first Indian to win the Woolmark Prize, is likely to apply under the new regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to establish a branch campus in India.
Marangoni already operates independent branch campuses in Milan, Paris, London, and Shanghai. Additionally, it has a presence in India through a vocational institute in Mumbai; however, it only offers certificate courses.
