Meghalaya CM Launches 'Rural Backyard Piggery Scheme' for Farmers' Welfare

  • Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma launching the ambitious flagship programme for the farmers - "Rural Backyard Piggery Scheme" under National Livestock Mission at Byrnihat in Ri-Bhoi district, said that the government through different welfare schemes is successfully providing income generation opportunities and economic prosperity to the farmers.
  • Under Rural Backyard Piggery Scheme - phase 1, the government earmarked Rs. 15.18 crore under which four high-yielding improved varieties would be distributed to 6000 families.
  • Under this mission, zero interest loan is provided for setting up fattening and pig breeding.

Uttarakhand CM Launched 'CM Udyman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana'

  • Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the "Mukhyamantri Udyaman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana". The Chief Minister Sports Development Fund would be established to be given financial benefits to the students according to accelerated rules.
  • On this occasion, in view of the shortage of sports coaches, the Chief Minister appointed eight sports coaches in each district, established of Chief Minister's Sports Development Fund to give quick financial benefits to the players as per rules and four per cent reservation for skilled players in state services. Also announced to try to implement again.
  • Under the scheme:
  • A sports scholarship of Rs. 1500 per month will be given to budding sportspersons between the age group of eight to 14 years.
  • Every year a total of 3900 budding sportspersons will be given scholarships, which will include 1950 boys and 1950 girls.

Vidyanidhi Scheme Extended for Kids of Agricultural Labourers: CM Bommai

  • Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the State Cabinet decided to extend the 'Vidyanidhi' Scheme to the children of farm labourers along with farmers' children.
  • Speaking after inaugurating a slew of developmental workers and laying foundation stones for new projects in Ranebennur Assembly Constituency, he said that 4,000 Anganwadi centres were established specially to provide nutritious food for the kids of agricultural labourers. Besides, Rs. 50,000 scheme has been formulated for the rural artisans.

Transgenders Will be Covered Under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY

  • According to the government of India, transgenders will be brought under the ambit of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).
  • The National Health Authority (NHA) under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide inclusive and composite health package for transgenders under Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched 'Make India No. 1' mission

  •  Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has formally unveiled his Aam Aadmi Party's national ambition with the launch of the 'Make India No 1' campaign.
  • At an event organised at Talkatora stadium here, he proposed a five-point vision for good governance.
  • The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor termed the campaign a "national mission" and appealed to the masses to join.
