Karnataka Bank Gets Award for Innovative HR Practices
Karnataka Bank was conferred with the 'Top Organizations with Innovative HR Practices' award at the 19th edition of the Asia Pacific HRM Congress.
The award is yet another feather in the cap for Karnataka Bank for its innovative HR practices such as 'online e-learning module' to equip its workforce with the relevant new age skills to cater to the varying demands of the customers.
The award is also a recognition for the efforts put in by the 8,400-plus staff of the bank to align themselves to the call of the bank's change management and efficiency enhancement programmes to emerge as the 'digital bank of the future.

Tsitsi Dangarembga Receives Peace Prize of the German Book Trade 2021
The Peace Prize of the German Book Trade 2021 was awarded to the Zimbabwean author and a filmmaker Tsitsi Dangarembga for a "new Enlightenment", a work on violence in her country and all over the world by Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels, an association of German book publishers and booksellers.
Dangarembga is the first black woman to win the German Peace Prize. She has won the PEN Pinter prize 2021. Her debut novel, Nervous conditions were the first to be published in English by black women from Zimbabwe.
German Peace Prize is awarded by Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels, the German Publishers and Booksellers Association, Germany.
Prize money: 25,000 euros.

Manipuri Film 'Eigi Kona' Gets Rajat Kamal Award
Manipuri film Eigi Kona was conferred the Rajat Kamal Award as the best regional feature film at the 67th National Film Awards in New Delhi.
The film has been produced by K. Sushila Leima and directed by Bobby Wahengbam and Maipaksana Haorongbam. It highlights the sorry state of ponies and polo players.
The 90-minute-long film was earlier well-received at reputed festivals such as Indian Panorama, 51st International Film Festival, Goa, 4th Ottawa Indian Film Festival Awards, Canada.

Rajinikanth Honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award
Actor Rajinikanth was honoured with the prestigious 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 67th National Film Awards ceremony, for his contribution as an actor, producer and screenwriter. He received the prestigious award from Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu for his stupendous contribution to Indian cinema.
Instituted in 1969, the award is the highest honour for an artiste in Indian cinema. The award was decided by a jury consisting of five members: Asha Bhonsle, director Subhash Ghai, Mohanlal, Shankar Mahadevan and actor Biswajeet Chatterjee. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2019 was to be announced last year but was postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic, as were the National Film Awards for 2019.

Presentation ceremony of the 67th National Film Awards was held at Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan. The awards were presented by Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu. The awards included the 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award, which was presented to Rajinikanth.
The Best Feature Film went to Priyadarshan's Malayalam period epic Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea. While Kangana Ranaut won Best Actress for her performances in Manikarnika and Panga, the Best Actor went to Manoj Bajpayee for Bhonsle and Dhanush for Asuran. Vivek Agnihotri's The Tashkent Files got Best Dialogue and his wife Pallavi Joshi got the Best Supporting Actress award for the same film. Best Hindi Film went to Chhichhore, starring the late Sushant Singh Rajput. B Praak got the National Award for the Best Male Playback Singer for the patriotic song Teri Mitti from his war-drama Kesari.
