  • City winger Jeremy Doku crossed to the big Norwegian who finished with a first-time shot, achieving the feat in 111 games, 13 fewer than the previous fastest centurion Alan Shearer.

Justices Farhan Dubash, Savitri Ratho Emerge Winners at Judges' National Badminton Championship

  • The inaugural All India Judges Badminton Championship concluded at the Thyagraj Stadium in New Delhi. It brought together more than 70 High Court judges from across the country for two days of competition and camaraderie.
  • Bombay High Court Justice Farhan Parvez Dubash won the men's singles title while Orissa High Court Justice Savitri Ratho won the women's singles.
  • Justice Farhan Dubash and Justice Sarang Kotwal emerged as men's doubles champions while Justices Prathiba M. Singh and Justice Savitri Ratho won the women's doubles category.
  • Justice V. Narasingh and Justice Savitri Ratho won the mixed doubles title.
  • The event was conceived by Supreme Court Justice Vikram Nath who is a keen badminton enthusiast, and also accomplished player.

Indian Women's Hockey Team Chief Coach Harendra Singh Steps Down

  • The Indian Women's Hockey Team's chief coach Harendra Singh stepped down from the role owing to personal reasons.
  • Harendra had replaced two-time Olympic medallist Janneke Schopman of the Netherlands as head coach after the Dutchwoman resigned in February 2024 after the Indian women's hockey team failed to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Manipur Defeats Colombia Claims 15th Manipur Polo International Title

  • India B (Manipur) secured a decisive 8–5 victory over Colombia and lifted the 15th Manipur Polo International Tournament trophy, concluding a vibrant week of sporting excitement at the historic Imphal Polo Ground.
  • The tournament was organised by the Manipur horse riding and polo association.
  • The venue, the Imphal polo ground, also known as Mapal Kangjeibung, is widely known as one of the oldest polo grounds in the world, adding heritage value to the event.
  • Governor Bhalla presented medals to both the champions and runners-up. The winning team, India B (Manipur), was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh, while team Colombia took home a prize money of Rs. 1.5 lakh. After the prizes were distributed, Bhalla formally declared the tournament closed.

Andre Russell Officially Retires from the Indian Premier League (IPL)

  • Swashbuckling all-rounder Andre Russell confirmed his retirement from the Indian Premier League ahead of the upcoming mini-auction on December 16, 2025. He will continue his association with Kolkata Knight Riders, joining their coaching setup as a "Power Coach" for the 2026 season.

India Registers Heaviest Test Defeat vs South Africa

  • In a seismic moment for international cricket, South Africa defeated India by a staggering 408 runs in the second Test at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati, in November 2025. This historic result not only sealed a 2–0 series whitewash but also shattered several records, handing India their worst defeat by runs in Test history.
  • Chasing an almost impossible target of 549 runs, the Indian batting lineup collapsed for just 140 runs, succumbing to one of their most humiliating defeats on home soil. The 408-run margin surpassed the previous record of a 342-run loss against Australia in Nagpur, making it the largest defeat by runs India has ever faced in Tests.

Portugal Wins Maiden FIFA U-17 World Cup Title

  • Portugal capped a remarkable resurgence by defeating Austria 1-0 in the final and won the FIFA Under-17 World Cup at the Khalifa International Stadium in Qatar.
  • Austria which appeared in their first Under-17 World Cup final, impressed throughout the knockout stage with wins over England, Japan and Italy.
  • This was the 20th edition of the tournament, which FIFA has now shifted to an annual cycle instead of a biennial one. Qatar hosted this edition and will stage the next four as well.
