Young Indian shooter Samrat Rana came up with breathtaking show of marksmanship to clinch the men's 10m air pistol gold and make history at the prestigious ISSF World Championships.
The 20-year-old Samrat became the first Indian pistol shooter in an Olympic discipline to become world champion and, in the process, also helped India win the team gold in the event.
With three gold, three silver and as many bronze, India jumped from fifth spot to third as China led the table with six gold, four silver and two bronze medals.

Former No.1 Tai Tzu-ying Bids Farewell

Tokyo Olympics silver medallist and women's badminton great Tai Tzu-ying Taiwan announced her retirement from the sport, bringing the curtains down on a glittering career during which she won 17 BWF World Tour titles and finished runner-up in 12 tournaments.
The former world no. 1 has been battling injuries since last year and has been unable to return to the international circuit.

Raahul VS India's 91st Grandmaster

Raahul VS on became India's 91st Grandmaster after he won the 6th ASEAN Individual Championship with a round to spare. Raahul had become an International Master on November 14, 2021 when he scored his fourth and fifth IM-norm before crossing 2400 in the live ratings.
A week ago, Illamparthi AR from Chennai had become India's 90th Grandmaster. The 21-year-old player, who is the 35th GM from Tamil Nadu achieved his final norm at the Bijeljina Open 2025 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Grandmaster is the highest title or ranking that a chess player can achieve. It is awarded by the International Chess Federation (FIDE, from its French acronym Fédération Internationale des Échecs), the global governing body headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Team India, led by Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur, delivered a commanding performance against the formidable Argentine side. From precision strikes to strategic plays, the match embodied the very essence of international polo with passion, power, and partnership, according to the press release from Indian Association (IPA).

On a day when the 26-year-old Elavenil looked good to take the top podium spot after grabbing the lead in the final, a heartbreak moment happened when she scored a 10.0 on the 19^th shot to slip to third from where she lost momentum and could manage a poor 9.9 on the 22^nd shot to finish in third place with a score of 232.0.

The Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025-East Delhi, a flagship initiative to promote local sporting talent and physical fitness, was inaugurated at the East Vinod Nagar Sports Complex. The 53rd Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Memorial Indoor Tournament (SSBMT) 2025, organised by the Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research, which concluded in November.
A total of 83 participants from various laboratories of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) are taking part in this prestigious sporting event. The participating laboratories include CSIR–Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), New Delhi; CSIR–National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune; CSIR–Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Uttarakhand; CSIR–Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR), Lucknow; CSIR–Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), Durgapur; and CSIR–National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa.

Indian Hockey's Centenary Celebrations Begin

India commemorated a major milestone in its sporting history as centenary celebrations of Indian hockey were held at the iconic Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. The date marks exactly 100 years since the founding of the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) — the country's first governing body for the sport — on November 7, 1925. Organised by Hockey India (HI) in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the celebrations are a nationwide tribute to a sport that has shaped India's identity, inspired generations, and brought home 13 Olympic medals, including 8 gold.
