Indian Shooters Nivetha, Esha Singh and Ruchita Vinerkar Win Gold at ISSF World Cup in Cairo
The Indian shooting trio of Nivetha, Esha Singh and Ruchita Vinerkar combined to win the gold medal in the women's 10m air pistol team event of the ISSF World Cup in Cairo, Egypt. The Indians shot 16 in the gold medal contest to finish on the podium for the country's third medal, and second gold, in the year's first World Cup. India leads the standings with three medals – two gold and a silver.
Germany's Andrea Katharina Heckner, Sandra Reitz and Carina Wimmer settled for the silver medal after managing 6 in the fight for the top prize.

Pakistan vs Australia: Test Series Trophy Renamed to Honour Two Legendary Spinners
Test series between Australia and Pakistan was named 'Benaud-Qadir Trophy'. The series marked the first time in 24 years that Australia played a Test series in Pakistan and the trophy was named after former spinner and their former captain Richie Benaud, and former Pakistan spinner Abdul Qadir.
Current captains Pat Cummins and Babar Azam unveiled the trophy at the Rawalpindi Stadium, where the first Test was played. Australia made their first visit to Pakistan for a Test series since 1998, when Mark Taylor's side won a three-match series 1-0.

31st Southeast Asian Games to be held in Vietnam
The 31st Southeast Asian Games will be held in Vietnam from May 12 to 23, 2022. It is the biggest sporting event of Southeast Asia and is a biennial event. The event was originally scheduled to take place in November 2021 however it was postponed due to the Covid pandemic. The Games will feature 40 sports with 526 events, attracting around 10,000 participants.
The Vietnamese capital Hanoi will be the main venue alongside 11 neighbouring localities including Quang Ninh, Phu Tho and Bac Ninh. Moto of the 31st Southeast Asian Games is "For a Stronger South East Asia".
Saurabh Chaudhary Wins gold in ISSF World Cup
Indian shooting ace Saurabh Chaudhary won the gold medal in the men's 10m air pistol event, opening the country's account in the year's first ISSF World Cup.
The Asian Games gold medallist shot 16 in the gold medal contest to finish ahead of Germany's Michael Schwald (6).
The bronze in the event was bagged by Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Artem Chernousov of Russia, whose country's flag was removed owing to its involvement in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine.

Team India Equals Record for most Consecutive T20I Wins
After defeating Sri Lanka in the third and final T20I, Rohit Sharma-led Team India equalled the world record for registering the most consecutive T20I victories.
With this victory over Sri Lanka, Team India registered their 12th consecutive win in the shortest format and they have now equalled Afghanistan's record for most consecutive T20I wins by a Test-playing nation.
India is currently the No.1 ranked team in the shortest format of the game.
Daniil Medvedev Dethrones Novak Djokovic to Become World No 1
Daniil Medvedev became the 27th player to reach No. 1 in the ATP Rankings. The 26-year-old (8,615 points) passed Serbian Novak Djokovic (8,465), who has held the top spot in men's tennis for a record 361 total weeks.
Medvedev is the first player outside the 'Big Four' of Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray to hold the top spot in 18 years, three weeks and six days, since Andy Roddick on 1 February 2004.
Medvedev is the third Russian to achieve the feat, joining Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Marat Safin.

Para Archery World Championships: Pooja Jatyan Wins Historic Silver
Rookie para archer Pooja Jatyan scripted history as she became the first Indian to win a silver in an individual section of the Para World Championships.
Pooja lost to Italian Petrilli Vincenza in the summit clash to end her World Para Championships dream run with a silver medal.
Pooja, who is afflicted with polio since childhood, put up a valiant show racing to a 3-1 lead but the world No. 7 Italian used her vast experience to bounce back and down the Indian 3-7 (24-24, 23-21, 26-28, 24-26, 25-27).
India thus ended their best ever World Archery Para Championships with two silver medals, a first for the country.
Mayank Agarwal is Captain of Punjab Kings
IPL team Punjab Kings appointed opener Mayank Agarwal as the captain of the team ahead of IPL 2022. Agarwal has been the member of Punjab Kings (previously Kings XI Punjab) since 2018 and was the vice-captain to K.L. Rahul. In 2021 IPL, Agarwal had captained Punjab when Rahul was out due to acute appendicitis and had to undergo surgery.
Agarwal was one of the two retained picks by Punjab alongside uncapped left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh ahead of 2022 IPL Mega Auction.
Mexican Open: Nadal Beats Norrie in Acapulco for 91st Career Title
Rafael Nadal defeated Cameron Norris 6-4, 6-4 to win singles of the Mexican Open and extend his career-best start for a season to 15-0 as he won his 91st ATP title.
Nadal, who won his third title in 2022, including the Australian Open for his record 21st Grand Slam singles title, is three victories from tying Ivan Lendl's total of 94 for third place for most championships in the Open Era. Jimmy Connors leads with 109 and Roger Federer has 103.
The Mexican Open is a joint professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts.
It was played on outdoor red clay courts until 2013. The change to hard courts was introduced in 2014. The Mexican Open is part of the ATP Tour 500 series on the ATP Tour, and of the WTA International tournaments on the WTA Tour.
Rohit Sharma Becomes Most-capped Player in T20I Cricket
Adding another feather to his cap, India captain Rohit Sharma became the most-capped T20I player after taking part in his 125th game during the third and final match against Sri Lanka at the picturesque HPCA Stadium.
He went past veteran Pakistan batter Shoaib Malik (124 T20Is) for the historic feat.
Rohit is also the only Indian cricketer to have played more than 100 T20Is. Former captains Mahendra Singh Dhoni (retired, 98 games) and Virat Kohli (97) follow him at second and third position, respectively among Indian players.
