Novak Djokovic ended a career-long jinx, lifting the trophy in Cincinnati as he completed a matched set of Masters 1000 titles.
The former World No.1 became the first man to win all nine of the ATP's elite Masters 1000 events since the ATP was formed in 1990.

Deepak Kumar has bagged silver medal in 10m Air Rifle event in the 18th edition of the Asian Games.
India has so far won three medals - one gold, one silver and one bronze - in the ongoing Asian Games.

Bajrang Punia opened India's gold medal account at the 2018 Asian Games. An in-form Bajrang won his maiden Asian Games gold in the 65 kg category defeating Japan's Takatani Daichi.
Sushil lost his last chance to add an Asiad gold to his collection of medals after losing his qualification bout 3-5 to Bahrain's Adam Batirov in the 74 kg category.

18th Asian Games

Google featured a colourful Doodle to celebrate the start of the 18th Asian Games where athletes from 45 countries will compete in 55 events.
Organised by the Olympic Council of Asia and held every four years, the Asian Games are the second largest multi-sport event in the world, behind only the Olympic Games.
This year`s events are happening in Indonesia`s oldest city, Palembang, and the capital city of Jakarta.

Asian Games 2018

The Indian contingent for the Asian Games, after much controversy in the selection process, finally stands at 572 athletes. These athletes will be accompanied by 232 coaches, and support staff. The contingent includes 312 men and 260 women athletes. The strength of total contingent from India is 802.

Tintu Luka Ruled Out of Asian Games

In a major setback for the Indian athletics contingent, Tintu Luka, 800m silver medalist in the 2014 Asian Games, was ruled out of the Jakarta Palembang 2018 Games.
Luka, who was scheduled to appear in a confirmatory trial in Thiruvananthapuram, pulled out of the trials called by the Athletics Federation of India.
